Best answer: So, you're asking people to compare an electronics brand to an OS? Or do you mean the computers that run Windows?

The specs are exactly the same, same Intel chips, same video cards, etc. This isn't a subjective thing that one can "think" the specs are better or not.

Apple's screens are very fancy though, even more expensive to get an equivalent screen on a Windows computer usually. That's what accounts for most of the price that most people aren't aware of, but most people don't need those screens unless you're in media creation, and you can get cheaper color calibration hardware for Windows.

But their hardware quality is not better, Apple leaves many design flaws in their devices over many generations. They're either doing it intentionally or just really terrible at hardware design.

Just look up any of the several Louis Rossmann videos he's got on youtube, he will demonstrate many of the hardware flaws. I can confirm with the two Apple devices I have, they've had the same issues he mentions. Just from that alone I think people need to abandon Apple.

But they go even worse with their latest scam to prevent any 3rd party from servicing. You can't buy repair parts, you can't even get RAM chips without buying a whole new machine. Apple requires service people to return broken machines to try to prevent spare parts from getting out there or they will pull their certifications and not let them get the few parts they do provide.

Here's one of his more informative videos, it's a bit long and he uses some language sadly:

  • How often should one replace their laptops?

Best answer: For me, something only gets replaced when it gets broken beyond repair. That's the reason I have a 1996 car, an XP computer and a 25-year old marriage.

  • So I spilled a little acetone on my laptop?! The keys are all fine but some of them turned a little white, is there any way to fix this?

Did it eat away at the black or it is simply a dried layer on top of it that can be wiped away?

Best answer: No, at least not because it has an apple logo on it. Apple is still taking advantage of a situation that was prevalent 30 years ago. Early on there were a relatively small amount of Apple computers as compared to PC's. So Apple used the advertising ploy that "macs" don't get viruses, which was only partially true. The truth of the matter was that for those that wrote malware in general wanted to hit many, many computers so they wrote their malware for pc's and didn't pay any attention to the Apple products. Apple is still capitalizing on that obsolete factor. Today most viruses and malware in general include the Apple products. As far as hardware is concerned they purchase the internal components from the same companies as the PC makers so the only real difference today is the Operating System. So it really comes down to whether you prefer the Apple OS over the Windows OS.

Best answer: The only components that *possibly* could be used is the hard drive and the RAM. That's it. nothing else is "swappable".

The last thing you want to do is buy a laptop that will be garbage after a year or two.

Regardless, in a budget laptop you need at least two things
    1. A SSD 128gb or greater.
    2. 1920 x 1080 (Full HD) Screen

If you compromise on either one of those you will end up with something very slow and not very usable. $400 is a lot of money to end up with something that doesn't work very well.

In my country I earn only 350usd equivalent and a MacBook air 13 here is 1600usd equivalent because of the taxes. I play g ame sometimes and learning python. I want to start develop my own game with indie graphics. My current note is a Lenovo ideapad 320, the only problem is the resolution 1366x768.
