• Laptop without a mouse?

I was able to use my laptop without a mouse. I just used the square thing at the bottom of the keyboard. Cat laid on the keyboard and ever since I’ve had to use a plug-in mouse how do I reverse this

  • My little sister spilled juice on my laptop while I wasn t home and it all dried up. Now some keys are messed up. Can I still fix this?

    - check if you can get a replacement keyboard for your specific type of laptop, then check if the price of that replacement keyboard is less than the price of a comparable (used) replacement laptop, then look for a description on how to swap out the keyboard on your laptop (or let a computer technician do that)
    - otherwise, assuming the laptop has a USB port (or a docking connector, or, at a pinch, bluetooth connectivity), you can simply use an external keyboard. Usually more ergonomic, too.

  • Is it possible to get a graphics card for my laptop if it doesn’t have one?

Best answer: Depends. Cannot tell just from "laptop" if yours has soldered chip for the video, none and only the integrated graphics as part of the CPU, or if the motherboard has a plug in MXM format card that can be upgraded. Also some laptops have a mini-PCIe port for the plugged in wireless adapter. That can be... show more

Cannot tell just from "laptop" if yours has soldered chip for the video, none and only the integrated graphics as part of the CPU, or if the motherboard has a plug in MXM format card that can be upgraded. Also some laptops have a mini-PCIe port for the plugged in wireless adapter. That can be used to interface to an external docking station for a desktop video card, power supply and monitor. There are similar ones for laptops with Expresscard slots, and Thunderbolt 3 or USB 3.1 type C port connections that can act as Thunderbolt.
A few very special laptops have custom connectors to same maker docks that have high performance video sent right back to the laptop's display.
So what you might have matters. That is all that can be guessed from your details that were nothing.

  • Can I put upgrade my gaming laptop that has 16GB of single channel RAM by adding 8GB of single channel RAM into the empty memory slot.?

I just recently bought an Asus GL503, and I saw that it has an extra memory slot for upgrading RAM. I looked online and saw on a couple of websites that an 8GB stick is compatible, but I’ve seen a lot of places also say that one shouldn’t have different ram capacities within a computer. Is this still true for my... show more

  • Bought a new laptop but it has issues already...?

Best answer: My laptop had the factory settings set to only sleep, when I powered it off. This obviously drained the battery. While I was in settings, I saw this and corrected it. Check the power off/sleep settings on yours. Good luck.

  • What are the differences between Notebooks and Laptops?

Best answer: Lenovo is made from cheaper parts and materials to lower costs. Buy a better brand for more money. Most computers are not designed for the great outdoors. And melting might have been caused by internal parts getting way too hot. Seek cooling choices after you clean out the dust bunnies from the fan and vent areas.

It depends on which country you are from/bought the laptop, but usually you have 14 days to return for a full refund, some stores exempt electronics from return/refunds.

The battery problem should be covered under the warranty, but usually batteries them selves are not covered under the warranty cover, but this sounds like a defect rather than a worn out battery so it should be covered.

My little brother has a 2017 MacBook pro, we live in Indonesia so shops here can sometimes be dodgy and there aren t any legitimate apple stores, only official resellers and even they are dodgy. Anyway, he seems to have broken the connection between the laptop and the display, where the screen occasionally goes black, but every part of the screen works perfectly, but theres something wrong with the connection. For those of you that know the insides of a MacBook, is there a cable that connects these together than can be replaced, or does the whole display need to be replaced. I m trying to work out whether these people are trying to con me as they want to replace the whole display which apparently costs 600USD, and when I said im going to get a second opinion they reduced it to 450 USD. Yeah and these are OFFICIAL apple resellers. So you can understand my skepticism. Let me know please, thanks.
