Last night i got an error message saying Windows had experienced a problem and needed to restart. Upon restarting. I got the error message "no operating system found" no big deal or so i thought. After restarting it again, windows came up perfectly fine, but i could not get to the log in screen cause everything froze up. So, again, I restarted it. Got the "no operating system found" I re-logged several times, and continued to get this error. Again, no biggy, i keep an iso file on a 32 gig thumb-drive for this reason. I went into bios to make it so i could boot from the thumb-drive. I went through the prompts as directed and came to the page to select the partition to install windows. I only had one partition. Partition 0. the value of it is 0 mb. So naturally, windows cannot be installed on this partition, because it is too small. I cannot expand this partition, as that option is grayed out. I cannot create another partition either. I go into DOS command prompts. Two disks are listed 0 and 1. the disk one is my 32 gb thumb drive. I can clean disk 0, but there is nothing there to clean. Can anyone help?

  • Games work poorly on Windows 7?

I rolled back from Windows 10 to Windows 7 and all my games are choppy and I'm losing about 10fps. I don't have viruses, all drivers are updated? Why is this happening?

  • Windows 10 problem?

Three days in a row now my PC has abruptly shut down and displays a blue screen that says "Your PC has run into a problem and had to restart". Is there a reason it keeps doing this? I had to get a new hard drive for it about two years ago, is it time to replace it again?

Best answer: Which version of Windows? This is essential information that is missing.

In the meantime, best thing to do is a system restore. Just pick a date just prior to when you installed that update. Don't worry, your windows update will detect you need to install that update and it will push it down and install it again. If it happens again after you get that update a 2nd time, you should reopen a new question and this time state your operating system. And if you know which update is the culprit, you should add the KB number as well. Alternatively, you can also open your own search and type the KB update in the search and see if there are known issues with it. But most likely it was just a hiccup and once you restore then reinstall it you will most likely be running fine again.
