"I am saddened that is it politically inconvenient to acknowledge what everyone knows: the Iraq war is largely about oil." -- Alan Greenspan, former FED chair c. "Well, we're in Libya because of oil." -- Congressman Ed Markey d. "We are not there for figs." -- Defense Secretary Chuck Hegel e. Or freedom versus safety. Two very different things.

I do plan on being honest but I m worried the fact that I smoked everyday pretty much since 15 will ruin my chances. I guess I m not as dependent as I thought I was because I ve given it and my friends up just for this dream. But should I alter the truth just a little bit? Maybe say I smoked 2-3 times a week with friends for a couple years? Or does it make no difference?

My husband leaves for boot camp in San Diego in about 20 days. When he was first looking into joining, his recruiter sat us down with another recruiter to go over my concerns. My top concern was financial because we are married and have many bills together (some which are just in my name because I have the better credit) so I depend on his income to pay mortgage and bills. They told us that while in boot camp he will have the option to wire money home and they made it seem like every time he got paid he d have the option. Now upon further research and after a letter I had to write stating that I understand that I ll be financially independent while he is there I am starting to worry that they lied. So what is it? Can he wire me money?? Will I have access to his account? As far as we know they said he will get an account at pcmu for his pay. I also was made special power of attorney. Does that give me access to funds? He already is getting some things paused while he s gone but I cant afford the rest just on my own. His recruiter seems to just say everything will be fine but if he can I will barely be scraping by. (He's doing reserves so housing pay doesn't apply)

  • Can I have these tattoos in the Air Force?

Best answer: No. You can't have tattoos on your neck or head. Also, if you are looking at a commission, you should also look at AFROTC at your school. OTS boards are unpredictable and more selective and you could be looking at 2-3 years before your start date even if they did take you (after you paid to have the tats... show more

  • If a couple just got out of high school and got married, and the male went into the military, what are the chances it will work?

Just wondering if this seems like it will work. I mean right out of high school btw. Both 18. I want to marry my girlfriend of 3 years and go into the navy. Our connection is strong and I believe it will work, but advice would be appreciated on this.

Best answer: Thank you for your service! That psychiatrist did not treat you right. If you don't feel comfortable with finding a different one, you have other options still. Both of my grandfathers served as well, and one of them found that a dog really put his mind at ease. Of course, getting a dog would not solved all your problems, but could help relieve a bit of it. They are a lot of work, but my grandfather loves having him around. Another option is to go to a support group in your area for people such as yourself who have served. A place where people understand what you went through and went through similar things firsthand. Do not feel ashamed for being in the military, please, I thank you for your service and all the things that you have done for your country.
