We hired a woman on care.com for 5 days and during that time she came late 4 days and never played with the kids, rarely tended their needs unless we told her to. We were looking to replace her after day 2. On day 5 she was abusing my baby and caught doing it. She would not stop even though I yelled for her to 3x. I had to get my husband. She was overpaid to get rid of her asap then came back demanding more pay. She then harassed me by text and online. I posted a bad review on care.com cited how we had to take over our children's care much of the time because she was overwhelmed by 2 kids and how she abused our son. She and some guy came to our house late at night. Another sitter and my 5 kids home, husband sleeping. They did not see us so they harassed by text saying they would sue for slander unless we pay her more and retract review. My husband gave her more money to go away but we have not taken review down. She says she will make life unpleasant for us and I believe she will be trying to cause us trouble with Child Services. What would you do? File Police report for harassment and child abuse (which may escalate the psycho in her) OR do nothing and let her make her allegations with Child Services and let them decide who to believe (and see if she also may do nothing)? Can she sue for slander? Care.com is provider site where users can review the providers & them post. We fired her yesterday & she has been told not to contact us but has contacted since.
