  • Should you always be available to your spouse?

My wife has this idea that when she wants to do something I should drop any and everything I'm doing and do what she wants. She also feels that we NEVER do anything. My wife has this idea that when she wants to do something I should drop any and everything I'm doing and do what she wants. She also feels that we NEVER do anything. Money is tight with us now and some weeks we barely make it by with paying bills and just trying to keep gas in our old cars. Yesterday at work she sends me a text to say she wanted to go to the movies. She wanted to see the new Incredibles 2 movie. I'm almost 49 and she's 48. We don't have young kids anymore but she said that when our kids were younger and we bought the first Incredibles movie on DVD that she assumed I wanted to see the sequel. Honestly, I don't. I guess I've aged out of cartoon movies. But now she's upset that I seem to not want to do anything with her today. Oh, and as far as the movie goes, she had planned a night of dinner and a movie but she told me she wasn't going to pay for everything so I needed to kick in on one or the other. Thanks for spending my money without asking. She feels she doesn't have to ask me what I have planned on Sat because as her wife I should always be available for her. I actually have plans myself. My sister wants me to come to her house and put up a couple of ceiling fans. My daughter wants me to change the oil and spark plugs on her car. But the most important thing I'm working on is a woodworking project making a piggy bank for one of our granddaughters. I've been working on it a couple of weeks and had plans to do other things to it this

My wife and I are having our first children - twins, and once they are born, I will quit my job and become a househusband. We already own our home, mostly thanks to me, since I bought it before we were together and earn more since, so we only need one of us to work, and even though my wife earns less, she insisted it be her. The last month has been really hard, because we hadn't been able to agree on it, but then she left me over it, and I it absolutely wasn't worth losing her over, so I changed my mind and convinced her to come back. We've talked about what we expect of each other now, and it doesn't seem that hard, to look after our children, and do all of the housework, have dinner waiting for her, etc, if I'm honest. We have her parents and my mother willing to look after them almost any time too. It will be weird giving up responsibility for money though, since she wants to control all of that. My biggest concern is that my wife will see me as less than I was, or less than her. She says that's just gender roles and sexism that I've been taught, and that I don't have to worry and she loves me. Will I enjoy looking after children? They're my children so I'm going to love them very much, but I've never done anything like it. I'm reading and learning about children. I'm really looking forward to a more normal sex life after we have children too, which my wife promised she'd put a lot of effort in to, since her pregnancy has ruined it.

I lost the password to my old Facebook and since my husband and his psycho parents were stalking and harassing me while we were separated I disabled it. I wanted to make a new account so that I could print coupons from various manufacturers pages. I did not tell my husband because we do not get along because he is so possessive and bossy. He was looking over my shoulder and saw that I made a new FB and did not tell him about it. I know how he is, (he has called or messaged various guys and threatened or forced them to delete me for talking to me). He demanded that I put myself as married to him and blew a gasket at me "deceitful and disrespectful behavior" in "hiding stuff and not getting his permission". Is this normal? I ended up disabling that page too. I did not want him on my account! He's nutty.

Well his cousin also married yesterday and he preferred to go with them instead of spend time with me and celebrate another successful year of us together. Like we have been celebrating our dating anniversary for all of the years together and all of a sudden he tells me it’s not that important! Am I wrong for being angry?! Not to mention he works 6 days a week unscheduled hrs so we hardly have time because we also have children! I feel bad for being angry but I’m not because he goes out more than I feel a married man should when I’m the one stuck in the house with kids!
