• How to clean a microwave without water?

Trying to clean cooked-on food in the office microwave (it's a mess), but the nearest source of water is the bathroom down the hallway from the office - I don't want to go back and forth just to get water. We have all-purpose/all-surface cleaner, paper towels, and scouring pads.

  • Do I really need to put oil in a tin can or can I put it down the drain?

Best answer: Go ahead and out it down the drain. But, don't say no one told you so when the drain clogs and you have a plumber charging you $87.67 an hour to tell you that your drain is clogged up with solidified oil.

I work at a thrift store that runs off donations, and one of my jobs is to process and price the product. At work today, I got a small stoneware jar that I assumed was empty, as it had no lid and the way our donations team handles stuff anything lidless is almost guaranteed to lose its contents. Turned out this wasn t the case however, as when I turned it over to look at the base, my hand got covered in the liquid contents. At first I thought it was water, but upon examination it had that greasy feel of some kind of oil. It didn t smell, and was relatively light, though when wiping down with paper towels I noticed a faint blue tint to it. It also seemed to get warmer and burn a bit the longer it was on my skin, though that may just have been my crippling anxiety acting up via projection. I washed my hands several times, but being that I generally hate getting **** on my hands (particularly grease/oil) I still didn t feel quite clean. Anybody know what that blue oil stuff might be, and, more importanyly, am I going to die now?

  • How do you clean wax?

There's no particular reason to elaborate, but last night I spilled hot wax everywhere. It is on my computer. It is on my keyboard. It is on my desk. It is on my cans of AriZona green tea. I have a double basin kitchen sink and for some reason even when there hasn't been a dish in it and the sink is completely for days I still get this awful smell every time I use the water in it. I don't have a dishwasher so this makes doing dishes every day a strain. I don't know how to fix this as I don't have the expertise to take the drain apart and check it. I've tried pouring salt down the drain to neutralize the smell and it helps but as soon as I use the water the smell comes back. I have mesh drain covers over the drains so nothing should have been able been able to go down the drain but still there's this rank smell of rot. Help!

  • Is releasing a queen ant in my house a good idea?

Best answer: Ants are like teenagers. They will only clean what they want to and make a mess of everything else.

    Bottom line: Don't do it.
