You do run the risk of scorching or burning the sauce. If you have to make it thicker it will be safer to do so in the oven. Put your sauce in a heavy duty pot, I like my Dutch oven. Set the oven at about 300 and let it remain in the oven, check and stir after about 30 minutes. If you still want it thicker check and stir again about every 15 minutes.

I really want to learn how to cook meals for myself as a cannot use most appliances in the kitchen. I know of cooking courses but I'm sure that's just for learning how to cook certain meals. I just want to know how to use the stuff in my kitchen and be able to cook a meal properly.

  • Is it ok to cook with red wine if a child is going to eat it?

I have guests for dinner tomorrow night and they have a 9 month old baby. I am making a cottage pie and I usually put red wine in it. I know the alcohol mostly cooks off. Is it ok to serve it to the baby or should I leave it out

I want to keep eating the prepared food, so please don't tell me to prepare my own (I'm a terrible cook anyway), but what I'd love to do is be able to add something to the meal to take the curry effect away, or cancel it out. So what could I add that would make these otherwise fine meals edible? Thank you.

  • How to make a good milkshake?

Best answer: 3:1 mixture of ice cream to milk (just eyeball it.) Some syrup or frozen fruit for flavoring. And the secret ingredient: 1 or 2 spoons of powered milk.

The powdered milk will help give the shake a thicker and smoother consistency.

  • Crock pot question?

So I’m making cheeseburgers in the crockpot, so basically just ground beef and velveeta cheese. The recipe says to cook it on low for 5-6 hours. I’ve been cooking it for 3 so far and it seems done. The edges are getting a little burnt, so should I stop now? What’s the difference of cooking 2 extra hours?
