I’ve never cooked beef stew before but I want to try. A lot of recipes I’ve looked up have red wine and I’m a bit unsure about using it. Neither me or my family drinks so I’m worried adding wine will ruin the whole dish together. However a lot of recipes recommend using it since it gives the stew a deeper flavor and makes the meat more tender and I don’t want to miss out on something potentially amazing. Does the stew taste different with red wine? Can you taste the red wine when it is used? Is the stew still good without it?

Now dice 8 potatoes, 2 onions 2 bell peppers, 2 tomatoes, and mince 20 cloves of garlic. bake 1 pound of bacon slices laid out or cook the bacon slices in a pan. Cook off a pound of breakfast sausage. While the meats are cooking, season and saute the potatoes until tender and caramelized. Put the potatoes in the foil pans evenly distributed. Season and saute your veggies.. put those in the foil pan evenly distributed. rough chop your meats when done and add that to your foil pans evenly distributed. Now whisk up 24 eggs and strain them though a wire mesh strainer into a large bowl. Whisk in 8 oz of heavy cream. pour the eggs into the foil pans evenly distributed and mix everything well. cover with one layer of american cheese slices. now add a pound or two of shredded cheddar evenly distributed over the top. Wrap the foil pan first with plastic wrap and then with foil. Carefully put it into your preheated 300 degree oven and bake for an hour. check to see the eggs are not runny, but this is a great breakfast!

It was delicious and I believe it was made from corn. I ve tried googling different things and have gotten results about corn cakes (most look like corn bread, which it was not) and recipes with whole kernel corn. This was more like...a smooth, warm corn sorbet, lol. Any ideas for me to look up to try and find this?

For lunch: His favorite sandwich piled high with his favorite deli meats and cheese, and dressed up just the way he likes it, i.e., lettuce, tomato, mustard, mayonnaise, you get the idea. Also some Ruffle potato chips and maybe a side salad like macaroni salad, potato salad, or cole slaw.

For dinner: DEFINITELY a steak, I myself am a ribeye man and I just don't see how you can go wrong with that. Also, either mashed potatoes or baked potato, his favorite bread or rolls, a vegetable medley mix if you don't think he will mind vegetables, a nice red wine like cabernet sauvignon if he's a wine drinker or his favorite beer, and his favorite dessert. I myself like a lemony type of dessert.

I hope this helps or gives you ideas to work with.

I must say it is very refreshing to see a woman go out of her way and show some appreciation for her man. These days that's becoming rarer and rarer. Have fun with your events.

  • . How important is it to put baked goods (such as cookies, cakes, breads) on a cooling rack after baking? What exactly does that do?

Best answer: Removing baked goods from a cookie sheet or pan will stop residual or "carry over" cooking.
Also removing cookies, breads, cakes and the like from the pan and placing them on a rack keeps the bottom from getting soggy.

I'm going to be grilling out for my gf & her exteneded fam. I don't care all that much for hot dogs, and like brats (the off white variety) a lot better than any other grilled sausage. I know hot dogs are traditional with hamburgers as grill out fodder, but should I go with my tastes or just tastes in general. Full disclosure I am doing this for a practically free vacation. I am planning to have mustard potato salad, w beans, coleslaw and tortilla chips with salsa and queso sauce (maybe--depending on the activity we do that day) while people are waiting to be served. Condiments will be catsup, mustard (both traditional yellow mustard and Guldens--again because that's the mustard I prefer), mayo, lettuce, tomato, pickles, raw onion rings, grilled onions and peppers, and sweet relish. I'll be getting the ingredients for strawberry shortcakes (angel food cake, strawberries, glaze, whipped cream) but will have these set up so they can take what they want. I will be grilling 12 burgers and 12 brats. There will be six adults and two children.
