  • Are tablet screens measured diagonally like TVs are (or used to be anyway...)?

Not sure if this is still the case, but television screens were always measured DIAGONALLY. If a tablet has a 7" screen, is it 7" HIGH, or DIAGONALLY?

So last night I was cleaning my room and I lifted my trash bag and it hit my plug in for my laptop. My plug in was chewed up by my puppy and idk how it still worked but it was messed up already and you could see the wire at some parts but it still worked. So it hit the plug and there was a spark and then all the lights and everything went out in my room. My tv and everything. Everything else in my house was still working its just my room. I'm only in high school though so take that into account. Anyone know how to fix this?

  • My new charger has a lower output current than the original one. Is it safe?

I recently bought a new charger with an output current 3.34 A. My original one has an output current 4.62A. Both have the same input and output voltages and input currents but their output currents are the ones different. Is it safe to use the newer charger even if it has a lower output current?

I have this outside light, for some reason it has a permanent live wire going in to the ceramic lamp holder, and two neutrals coming out of the lamp holder... So there are 3 wires going into the lamp holder, one line and two (what appears to be) neutrals apparently. What I don't understand is, when I switch the light off from the house, that live wire is still live! So how come the light isn't on permanently even if the switch is off? And the only way to isolate the light completey is by removing the fuse from the CU. I just don't get how that one wire seems to be feeding power to the lamp holder while the switch is OFF, unless the lamp holder it self has some kind of isolation device inside it? Isn't there supposed to be a "switched line" going from the light to the swtich then back again? I'm confused, can someone help me?

Problem: I have smart devices in my house and which I use Alexa to control various things such as switching certain sockets, appliances, lights and other devices on or off or to control them. I wanted to make my cooker also have the ability to be powered on or off with a wifi relay switch however the switch which does this which is called a sonoff basic relay supports maximum currents of 10A or 16A. The hob is an induction hob which is rated at 32A and is hard wired. The actual cooker port can support 45A however. The problem is there is no wifi switch out there which supports any higher amperage than 16A. One of the solutions I read online from another person complaining was to use a Contactor to switch the Hob on or off and connect the Sonoff Wifi Relay to drive the Contactor. Will this work as the Sonoff switch is electrical and must be always on for it to receive a signal from the wifi to trigger the switch in the first place and I seem to see only physical switches being used to drive the coil and complete the circuit. Is this possible or are there any other solutions?
