• Are rats related to squirrels?

Best answer: Fairly close, in the same order (rodents), that is as close as it gets. Different sub order makes them very different animals genetically.

She keeps doing it to the bottom right hand corner (it would start about 5:30pm to 6am everyday). She has toys, hay etc in the cage. I let her out of the cage everyday; she ll run around for about 5-10 minutes then she goes back into the cage, and starts pinging it. I can t cope with the noise. I try blocking the corner, but she just keeps moving the stuff out of the way. She doesn t like being out of the cage for too long. Her and her cage-mate get along. It has been going on for about 3 months now. Nothing has changed in her environment or my environment (nothing is different then how it usually is. No new smells etc). If nothing changes then I have to get rid of her because the noise she makes as she pings the bars is too much. Any ideas?

Later on, he kept falling on his side and couldn t stay up and he would squeak in pain if you tried to move him. Right before he passed he was twitching and lying on his side. I usually clean his cage once a week, but it had been two weeks since I had cleaned it last this time. Could the dirty cage have killed my piggy? I just wanted to ask this because I am feeling extreme regret about it.

  • My hamster drank windex what do I do...should I put him down? Or call pet smart?

Best answer: Keep an eye on him. DO NOT CALL PETSMART.. They killed a dog in on of their grooming salon last month. Call an emergency 24 hour vet, and they will tell you what to do. I hope the little guy is ok. I would hate to see him put down....

Best answer: Put treats on the ramp.
I wouldn't worry to much yet. Its been 2 hours and the hamster has probably never seen a ramp before. She just needs more time to figure it out.

If you have to fly make sure you transport them in the same carrier. Being separated would be very stressful for them. Pay the extra to keep them in the cabin. It’s easy for them to overheat in the belly of the plane. Use the largest cat carrier the airline will allow. Place a hiding house in the back and pack the the carrier with hay. Attach a water bottle to the door and place a bowl beneath it to catch any drips. You don’t want their bedding getting soaked.

The biggest thing throughout is extra vitamin C, and lots of hay. A dark place to hide and the ability to huddle against each other. Don’t handle them while traveling. Just when you stop for the night and only once heyve calmed and begun moving about as normal.
