If you increase the amount of food you eat, you will have more food and waste in your body, making it weigh more.

If you find that you continue to gain weight on your maintenance calories, then you have to accept that you miscalculated the number of calories you need and or you need to change what you eat, when you eat, and/or your exercise.

  • I’m 13 and in 3mos I went from being 83 lbs to being 90 I have been struggling on the verge of anorexia but now I’m scared Imma be overweigh?

Best answer: That is fine. Weight gain at your age is normal and necessary. It's needed to grow a healthy body. You've gained 7 pounds in 3 months, that's a normal and healthy amount for an adolescent your age. You will not be overweight.

The average-sized piece of fruit (an apple, say) has about 80-100 calories. That's not a lot. Salad may be very low in calories if it's just lettuce and vegetables, but it will have more calories if you add things like cheese, croutons, bacon, and dressing.

Eating fruits and vegetables is important, but that can't be all you eat. You also need to eat lean protein and some healthy carbs. Protein is especially important, because it helps keep you from feeling hungry AND it includes some necessary fats. You need fats for brain functioning and other things.

If you are trying to lose weight, you should not eat less than 1200 calories per day.

  • Which Scale is Right?

I have three different scales. A red one, a white one, and a grey one. The grey one puts me at 164. The white one puts me at 165. The red one puts me at 171. Which scale would be right? I weighed myself on them at the same time, right after waking up and using the bathroom. Would the highest one be right?

Best answer: No specific foods boost your metabolism.
Eating a good breakfast helps raise metabolism, as does regular exercise .. even daily walking.
A pound of muscle burns more calories than a pound of fat .. so build muscle.

Here are the guidelines for loosing weight:
You should NEVER eat LESS than 1300-1400 calories a day. Eat less than that, and you metabolism slows down and weight loss becomes almost zero. And what your body burns for fuel is your muscle . .it saves the fat. You see .. the body thinks there is a famine going on, so it has to conserve the fat for running away from a predator, and it has to burn as few calories as possible. What happens is that when you STOP dieting, because your metabolism is NOW so slow .. eating 2000 calories acts like eating 4000 calories. You quickly gain back everything you lost and then about 20-30 pounds MORE than you were before you started dieting.

First determine your proper weight range, what is healthy and will keep you functioning: https://www.smartbmicalculator.com/

Then calculate how many calories it takes to maintain your current weight, given your age/height/gender/activity level: https://www.freedieting.com/calorie-calc... A healthy rate of weight loss is 1-2 pounds a week. More than that, and you start to move towards "starvation mode" with all the draw-backs and health risks mentioned above. SO .. take your daily maintenance calorie count, and for 6 days of the week eat 600 calories LESS.a day. On the 7th day eat your FULL maintenance calories . .this tricks your body into thinking there is NO famine going on, so your weight loss will continue. Except for the occasional plateau here and there.

Eat 5 small meals a day, making everything you eat healthy and avoiding fattening and junk foods. Count the calories for EVERYTHING you eat. Pre-plan what you will eat, and eat nothing that is not ON your plan for that day. Make sure that every meal has some protein in it, because that keeps hunger away.

I am losing weight for medical reasons, and I lose 1.2 to 1.4 pounds per week. I fell and injured myself in May .... couldn't exercise, and went off my diet (but not unreasonably) for 2 months. Gained NOTHING back. Now I'm back on the calorie restriction and moderate exercise and losing again.

Just remember that everytime you have lost another 10 pounds, you have to go back and re-calculate your maintenance calorie level .. it will be lower than before.

Best answer: Can't say without you saying how many eggs you would eat in those two days. There's a lot of calories and fat in egg yolks. Now if you only ate egg whites, that would be different as there's no calories or fat in the white, but you wouldn't have enough bulk to feel satisfied. My wife could only eat egg whites and other food that had virtually no fat in it when her gall stones kicked off big time. She quickly lost a load of weight, not that she was plump to begin with. And that was with eating sugary stuff as no calorie counting was needed - just cutting out fat.

I suppose that a two day diet you suggest would make you lose a few pounds that might be seen 3 or 4 days later, IF you didn't then binge on other food after the first 2 days. To lose weight permanently you have to change your eating habits, usually just cutting down on quantities of everything but if you're really plump you need to be drastic with sugar and fat too. Good luck!
