  • Is it normal for a guy to gain 50+ pounds while in college?

Best answer: Yeah, especially if they came from a home where mom and dad did all the cooking. You go from mom telling you to eat your veggies, to a diet of whatever can be delivered, and you're bound to bulk up.

Best answer: Eat species with characteristically low levels of mercury and high levels of selenium such as shrimp, tilapia, salmon, pollock, and catfish. Do not eat shark, swordfish, king mackerel, or tilefish because they contain high levels of mercury and less level of selenium. Buy fresh and inquire about the pollution level in the water of the fish catch, eat fresh, dont fry the fish & fish like pomfret are expensive. Increased dietary selenium reduces the effects of mercury toxicity but only at low to modest doses of mercury. Mercury can cause irreversible inhibition of selenoenzymes that are required to prevent and reverse oxidative damage in brain and endocrine tissues. Selenium is also toxic if taken in excess.

When It is lunch time, I don’t eat anything, I just take a smoke break with my friends who also only eat dinner. Then, If I dont have work, I workout at around 3:30. Immediately after my workout, I eat dinner. At about 8pm, I usually eat another dinner. So I basically have two meals just crammed in between 3 and 8. Is this good for losing weight?

I’m small everywhere else except my hips and thighs, where I carry most of my weight. Is there any way to get rid of naturally wide hips?

  • I am 24 and need to lose 50 pounds . How can I do it in a semi quick pace but also not gain it back?

Best answer: You need to change your lifestyle completly. Break old bad habits, and replace them with new healthy one's. It's probably a lot more of a mental challenge than physical. Motivation is the key here.

Best answer: I honestly wouldn't bother and I know exactly how tedious and obsessive it is because I have been basttling with an eating disorder for years, I started with MyFitnessPal actually, not that I'm blaming that but it was the worst mistake of my life.

Looking back I wish I had taking a more relaxed approach to weight loss, I did want and need to lose some weight but I now know that the best way to do that is to moderate portion sizes, don't ban any foods in particular because it intensifies cravings and increase physical activity.

I have spoken to many people who are not disordered but admit that they become obsessive when logging calories and I am not surprised, yes it does work but it takes your life over in the end and I can't eat an apple without weighing it either, there is so little freedom in it all.

I am just into a healthy BMI again but my crazy mind thinks I am fat of course, I long for the day when I finally feel strong enough to delete my calorie logging apps and throw my scales and measuring jugs away, I know deep down that I am perfectly capable of eating in a moderate way and that even junk food doesn't make people fat or even hinder weight loss if you don't eat too much of it but we live in a very diet driven society and although many apps and diet widgets are free to use they still make money through the advertisements on them.

It's basically marketing to make weight loss and control convenient but most people are perfectly capable of adjusting their intake without it becoming a calorie driven compulsion and I wouldn't advise calorie counting to anyone, my husband tried it and found it frustrating so I told him to stop and use portion control instead, it worked perfectly well and he's not stuck in a world dominated by numbers anymore.
