But I I sold about $3,500 worth of stock at one point and my broker recommended a little company that was building coffee shops around the US called Starbucks. We happened to have one just down the street and I really loved it, so I put $3,500 in it.

Today that stock is worth about $120,000. It allowed me to retire early!

  • What do you think of we buy bitcoins on margin like in the 1920s with the stock market?

Best answer: Only id you want to lose your shirt. If you buy on margin and only put 10$ down then if they drop 50% like they have before, you will owe 4 times what you put down as well as losing your down payment. And the lender will want that money immediately. In 1929 such margin calls triggered a lot of suicides.

Best answer: Every crash is different, but there are some common situations that are present in a lot of the crashes.

There may be a "bubble" caused by unrealistic expectations. When the market is going up stock holders are making money and want to make more money the same way by buyig more stock. As a result stock prices may grow to a point where there is little possibility of companies making enough money to justify the stock price.

There may be a totally unexpected event, such as the 9/11/2001 attack, that causes panic in financial markets.

There are frequently regulatory failures that allow unnecessary risks to be taken. For example, prior to the 1929 crash there were lax regulations on buying stock with borrowed money (buying on margin) which meant that a normal downturn I the market forced people to sell shares to cover their debts turning causing massive losses.

Wikipedia has a "List of stock market crashes and bear markets" that gives the cause of many of the previous crashes at

which you may want to check for more information.

  • Is it worth investing £50-£100 in bitcoin?

Best answer: you aint "investing" you are gambling

If losing 50-100 wouldnt bother you then have a go
(remember- the MOST you can ever lose when "investing" is the amount you "invest")

(think of it this way - you are gonna "invest" 50-100 in lottery tickets)
