Best answer: Elisabeth Kolbert has been active in arguably a true foundation of Philosophy,
    Camille Paglia another^

The decline of the Animal world today, which obviously includes humans.
This foundation is showing why & how its crumbling, crumbling faster today.
As if philosophy ever was of importance in our culture - I cannot believe
that it has reached any such thing, even during its "start up" in Ancient Greece
the cracks were obviously there...like evidence of the power & stability of a small
but influential human culture which of course SURVIVED for thousands of years
with our ancestor culture exposed to the full force of Darwinist conflict & untold
savagery- yet it survived and laid the foundations for mass religion and new methods
    of writing/expression.
Females though -I contend- were OUSTED from Ancient Greek knowledge gathering of
the new systemic type, starting with Plato & running ALL THROUGH THE so-called
Great "Peripatetics" & all the following Greek scholars.

And because they powered all this by use of "technics/technique" there is a good case
for saying that the GREEKS ALONE were & are totally responsible for the terrible mess
that has befallen our education-and-its-present knowledge gathering AND APPRECIATION.

The Greeks were responsible for this decline in understanding WHAT knowledge was for..
& even HOW it should proceed.
It didn't proceed with FOREIGNERS or with FEMALES AT ALL & so this in itself is reason
enough for the lack of female philosophers now :
But the other internal environment which was AND STILL IS degraded as-far-as-true-knowledge
is concerned is the present environment of RELATIVE-ISM et al.

And because it is "hardly talked about" means that today's current crop of graduates and
"Phd's" and all think that it has "all been solved".
Well there is news for them, which is this news..

NO PHILOSOPHY can survive if it doesn't "search for the truth".
One big example is that of the experienced philosopher Chomsky, who has
come out & explicitly explained why & what is the MAIN THREAT now to
philosophy - which is the sheer mistake that the majority of teaching Philosophers
are engaged upon as they prefer to plod along with philosophy-as-history yet
steadfastly unable to proceed to its rational current conclusion - that philosophy is
in DIRE trouble today not least because our culture -the ENVIRONMENT Culture - is too.

Any reasonable student could understand that these such Philosophers are only protecting
their jobs and that they do this by saying that they "are not qualified" in environmental
    studies !

But they or the majority of them are lying, just as senior politicians lie so as NOT to
"rock the boat" ("fib" & refuse to give the truth) with their conspirator-so-called "parties".

And more lie because of the dreadful teaching in which they were obliged to undergo..
"subjective learning" which just like relativism is naïve & stupid as it is plain wrong.

So perhaps possible Greek & female philosophers & Greek & female scientists were lucky
not to have joined in with the popular new writing & technical breakthroughs in Ancient Greece
after all - they may well have gone down the tunnelled system called "technique, or tech
    studies.
But all along this male preserve carried with it the same code which is does to this day,
a code which is becoming more& more vital with every passing day & every passing year.

And that is the "secret code" which we know as "learning from mistakes"....
The code which is appropriately relevant to BOTH our learning environment (Philosophy And
science) and to the Environment all around us.
For the environment All-around-us is subject to OUR BEST Philosophy,
it is also subject to OUR BEST science.
And unfortunately IT IS FOUND "WANTING", threatened and crumbling all
because our teachers through their "fallible institutions" have not been taught
how they can breakthrough the status quo- and the status quo of what needs
    to be changed.
So a real toxic environment for philosophy, its students & its female participants too.

So like us any intending female students should take-a-long-look at not just what
the environment is "out there" but also how it could be changed "out there".
It can of course be changed within philosophy, especially objective philosophy
which is always geared to those twin environs just mentioned.
And reinterpreting the mistakes commonly made here by subjectivists and all
(even as the present day teaching-of-teachers) can be exhilarating and liberating
for such female students- note the MeToo movement which came to light from
a subverting of the truth of male-on-female crimes.
So there are platforms from which we & they can break-out from the constraints
that bind us all ; more importantly WE HAVE TO TRY as I & many others have
said - we cannot let the thing that is this real environment stall any or all of the
truthful, better choices available to us going forward.
Like us all..female students have-to-take-this risky but totally rewarding pathway
    to better & better knowledge.
And so to a better & better Environment, FOR This knowledge.

^ Camille Paglia spend many years in higher learning - calling out those "worm like"
social scientists who have been responsible for present day, relativist teaching
like that of the Husserl & Heidegger school for example.

Not everything we learn can be applied in our own life. I think no knowledge is wasted. It opens up your mind, broadens your visions, can help others out. Also, its very nice if you can share knowledge with others.. even if you don't apply it, you still know about it and can use it in conversations... and most of all think about it, even without being applied. Knowing something can help you out with other things as well :)

Philosophically or mathematically logic seems strong. But is it infallible? When you play a shooting video game is it more important to have good aim and good techniques rather than think logically? You would think logic doesn’t work well there. Even thereotically conceptulizing about events doesn’t work logically seeing how real life often plays out differently. Even in chess some principles don’t seem perfectly logical such as “control the center of the board”, “develop pawns then minor pieces”. You could have a logical gym routine where you are lifting proportionally the same weight but it may not work logically because some muscles need to be much stronger. Etc. There are many reasons logic doesn’t really work best, yet it seems as though the intelligent society sees it as the best solution sometimes.
