• Why are men so quick to label women golddiggers?

Best answer: There are going to be different reasons. Men who’ve managed to only date women with nothing in the way of a career or other plans for the future. And then they believe those women are the norm. These men are probably the men who have a bit of a disliking for career women because supporting a woman is what gives them their role in life. They can’t see beyond it.

Then there’s the type that falls for propaganda from the manosphere that treats women in developed countries like women in strictly defined castes in India and assumes women are all like that. Men who take this idea to heart take offence at the idea that, for a woman to “marry up”, it means the man is “ marrying down” and since traditionally men make the proposals, it is the man who has decided on this deal.

Another reason men might say it, is when they’ve been through nasty divorces. It’s human nature to defend your position and divorces easily turn bitter. The wife can believe she is after the best outcome for her children but the man can see it as her being a gold digger.

In general, it’s men with little, or limited experience in dating, and those who like to stereotype about women who believe this.

    1. Negotiate on the price before mentioning how you're going to pay for it. Don't let them start on that topic until you've come down to a price you like. Once you've come to a decent price then talk about how you're going to pay.
    2. Get a preaproved loan. I've gotten much lower interest rates with my bank than with the dealer. A preapproved loan also lets you ask first if you will be charged an early pay-off fee and how much it is. Some states won't allow banks to charge that, and it seems to be less of an issue nowadays, but ask your bank anyway.
    3. Pay about 1/3 the total cost of the car as a down payment, putting the other 2/3 on a loan, and keep the rest of your money in a savings account for a future emergency.
    4. Get a loan that will take much longer to pay off than what you can, but still pay more than that each month anyway. That way if you lose your job or something it will be easier to keep up with payments. For an example, get a 5 or 6 year loan that will be $200 or less per month, but pay $300 or $400 per month.

  • Can in send her a Christmas card?

Best answer: There is nothing wrong with you sending her a card. If you don't have her contact information, you could visit the university and bring it to the office that assigns tutors. Or if you are sure she is a student at the university herself, you could bring it to the university post office.

I hadn’t planned on her staying but we got dropped off to my house at 2 a.m. and had both drank and I really didn’t want to drive 30 minutes to drop her off. To be clear, we didn’t do anything. We just slept in the same bed. I dropped her off and when I got back my mom started yelling at me as soon as I got home. She said that it was trashy and started saying she was going to kick her out herself if it happened again. My dad wasn’t even mad about it and she was acting like that. I tried to ignore her but she didn’t stop until I left. Now she’s ignoring me and acting like I did something horrible. I’m 18 and am moving away come graduation, so this really seems petty. Should I tell her sorry to just smooth things over? I didn’t want to drive after drinking and my gf is not some hoe, so I don’t see anything wrong since I’m not a kid anymore.

Best answer: What you saw today was what happens when you put a half-brained narcissist who thinks he knows everything in a room with two veteran politicians who actually do. Trump's such a dimwit he didn't even realize that he was manipulated into taking the full blame for the impending shutdown. That it actually is his fault is almost beside the point; what's major about this turn is that as the last two years have shown us, Trump never takes the blame for anything! Pelosi and Schumer knew exactly what they were doing in that meeting, and Trump played right into every damning trap they laid for him

Also, it bears repeating that Trump himself said of Obama in 2013 that a government shut down is indicative of a weak president. Never mind that Trump has already caused one government shutdown this year; in claiming he's proud to be the guy who's about to do it again, he's pretty much saying that he's proud to be weak.

So much for being a highly intelligent and stable genius.

  • Is it time education stopped favoring girls, or can girls only succeed if they receive special treatment?

Schools were encouraged to start favoring girls under the Women's Educational Act, beginning in 1974. Today we see many schools offering "no boys allowed" college prep experiences for girls only. Are these and other ways girls receive special treatment still necessary? Were they ever necessary?
