  • Girls when you are at home are you always barefoot?

I always am. I don't like wearing socks or slippers at home and being barefoot is more comfortable.

  • My hem line keeps moving when I'm trying to sew it?

Okay, so I decided to cut some old nylon pants so that I could have some new shorts.

I measured out how where I wanted to cut and everything, about 15 inches from the waist line.

    But my cutting was uneven:

I laid the pants flat and started to cut where I marked, they're pants so I cut through two layers of fabric on both legs and the top layer looked fine but the second layer ended up botched, I guess the second layer wrinkled and I didn't know, because I somehow even cut a very sharp curve into it.

Now I have an uneven cut on both legs, I decided to do a 1inch hem to hide it, so I flipped the bottom 2 (+ a 1/2 inch overlap on the inner side so I'd have something to stitch to) on one leg and pinned it.

I couldn't press the hem because it's nylon and will melt.

But for some reason, even though I pinned it down, the hem just kept moving out of place on my machine, becoming too short or too wide, it was folding on different places in between two inches not on the 1 inch line.

I have to rip all the stitches out and try again now, but I'm still confused as to why it kept moving.

    1. How do I cut evenly next time? This isn't my first time making shorts out of pants but I even looked up a video this time and they just cut it in a straight line and didn't struggle with it.

    2. Why did my hem keep folding in different places and not the 1inch center I marked, EVEN though I pinned it in place??

  • can I pierce with a 14g needle for 16g jewellery?

I'm going to pierce my own septum since none of the parlours are open and I really want a septum! Don't worry, I've done extensive research, but I can't really find any easy to digest info on home piercing and what gauges to use etc.

I do have 16g needles, I just feel that 1) it would be easier to get the jewellery in and 2) it would give the hole more space to heal. Please let me know which gauge size I should use.

Btw I ONLY have the jewellery that I want to use in 16g

  • Should I measure my waist at its narrowest part or 1 inch above my belly button?

I'm looking at size charts for dresses to order online and according to the size chart, they recommend "taking the measurement from the narrowest part of your waist, about 1 inch above the belly button." Only the narrowest part of my waist is much higher than that, basically right under my ribs. There's a 2 inch difference from the narrowest part of my waist to an inch above my belly button. Which one should I go with? I'm 27in at the narrowest, 29in above my belly button. My bust is 33in and my hips are 37in. Thanks!

  • Why are other women so mean over minor things?

At work I had to wear this uniform. It was a t-shirt with slightly thin fabric. Even though I wore a tight basic t shirt and a long sleeve shirt underneath it, my bra lines still showed through a bit. It depends on the lighting though. Depending how the light hit me, sometimes it wouldn't show at all. At the time I did not have enough money to buy a new bra. Also, if a person doesn't look at my chest area, they wouldn't notice anyway.

So I'm not completely sure if this was the issue or not because i used to wear uniform that looked like cr*p on me. Like an oversized tunic. It looked horrid because the shoulders were off and it didn't fit my body but it was thicker fabric. So i changed to the t shirt mentioned earlier. I also took better care of my hairstyle and makeup. Then some obese woman from work just came up to me and kept saying 'JESUS!' and then again (probably because I didn't react) 'JESUS!' in a NEGATIVE tone, randomly out of nowhere. And her slim mate was like ,' I find her annoying'.There are women out there who show cleavage or wear low cut tops with half their assets out and that's perfectly acceptable but me being covered from head to toe being judged like I'm naked?!?!Also, I've seen other womens' bra lines show a little through a thinner shirt it's normal. Most bras just have those seams. Are we just supposed to specifically buy boring seamless bras, wear those for the rest of our lives and not be allowed to buy normal ones because the seams might show a bit??
