  • What shampoo/conditioner would you recommend for greasy hair?

I can't find anything labeled specifically for greasy hair in any store, so I've been using "cleansing" shampoos and conditioners. The problem, of course, is that they're a bit too rough on my hair and it loses the healthy shine that I like and after about a week my hair starts falling out.

Anything else makes my hair decent for about a day, but the next morning I look like a dog has slobbered on my head.

  • Who would be a better choice? Gynocologist or endocronoligist?

My GI recently told me it's likely that I have endometriosis, and that he would like to work with my gynocologist to figure something out.

My mom is wondering if it might not be better to see an endocronoligist since they work with hormones and such, or if there's a doctor that actually specialises in treating endometriosis. Is there?

  • Would this be considered a first or second degree burn?

I spent the entire day Friday in the sun and the thought of sunblock never even crossed my mind (stupid teenager, I know, I've gotten enough lectures already...)

Currently my chest is a very dark red with very small darker red/purple spots and my skin is kind of bubbling. I can't touch it without wanting to scream and even small movements like typing this sentence make it hurt.

Should I see my doctor or can I just take care of it with some aloe and antibacterial cream?

Oh, and I'm currently on antibiotics that have that "avoid excessive sun exposure" warning label... Will that make a difference?

  • What could I do with a double major in French and Business?

I already have a decent list of what to do with French, but I'm still on the fence about Business.

Are there specific careers that would depend on knowing both?

  • Can those Visa gift cards be used in online stores?

If they can, how would that work? Do you just type the number in like you would for a credit card?

  • What are some songs that would work for a GSA sponsored "prom" type thing?

I'm looking for gay-themed songs, anything performed by out musicians, or songs about tolerance, accepting oneself, etc.

The club is doing this because my school administration is...well. Let's not get into that.

About a hundred people are coming, so I need music that will get people to move around, dance, go nuts, you know, everything that normally happens at prom.

  • What are some fish that can be kept with a betta?

I know they can't handle brightly colored fish and those with long, showy fins, but with what exactly CAN they live?

The only animals I know of are African dwarf frogs (my mom has 4 in a 10gal tank with her betta).

The tank I have is 20 gallons with lots of hidy holes for the betta or other fish.

Also, does it matter if the betta is added to the community last? Or should he be given a chance to mark the tank as his own first?

  • Any advice for starting a GSA?

I'm planning on starting one next year (God knows my school needs it) and I was hoping some of you may have some advice on how to go about getting a teacher supervisor, approval from the higher bodies (my principal is a dick. I need to get around that, too...), support from the students, blah blah blah...

I live in Georgia, so I know it won't be easy, but I really think it would make life A LOT easier for some of the kids.

  • Will any crazy stuff happen when I switch my antidepressants?

I've taken 10-20mg of Celexa for the last four months, but it really wasn't helping matters. I had a lot of trouble sleeping, and when I actually could, I kept getting REALLY bizarre dreams, I've had a lot of headaches and nausea, and generally my depression hasn't gotten any better.

My doctor switched me over to 150mg daily of Budeprion today, and I'm just wondering if, like I said in the question, any craziness will happen. I'm expecting a little nausea at first, but that's all I really know will happen.

    Should I expect anything else?

  • How long do the side effects of Celexa last?

I started the medication yesterday and began feeling nauseous about three hours after taking the pill. Today, I noticed that I get really dizzy when I move even a little faster than normal, my nausea hasn't gone away (it's actually gotten much worse, but no vomiting yet), and I have had a headache bordering on migraine all day.

    I'm on a really low dose, 10mg, for depression/anxiety.

Are these effects normal? How long do they usually last?

Yes, but isn't God the one who implemented the rule?

  • If I have all the symptoms of flu except a fever, should I just ignore it?

My body and head ache, I feel nauseous, I'm cold despite the fact that it's close to 90 degrees, I have no appetite, I'm dead tired, my throat hurts and I'm coughing like crazy.

I'm on my period, if that changes anything...

  • I need help with an AP Biology lab?

The basic outline of the lab is this:

Find out if termites prefer a specific brand of ink pen (Papermate or Bic), if they like/avoid certain colors (red, orange, green, blue, purple, all Papermate brand), and if they follow certain lines and shapes (drawn in green Papermate ink).

    The results were:

The termites avoided the line drawn with the Bic pen, they completely avoided the green ink during the color test, preferring the orange, but they had no aversion to the green ink during the shape test, where they all preferred round shapes. We had 8 or 9 termites.

What I need help with is this:

Why did the termites avoid the green ink during the color test, only to show no aversion to it at all during the shape test. Is there a certain chemical they like? Is it the color? The shape?

  • What are some landmark Supreme Court cases dealing with racism?

I'm looking for something that would work as a glib response to the questions "How are you an American? What does this mean to you?".

I'm NOT American, and I find the question somewhat offensive seeing as it comes from a Literature teacher who REALLY should know better.

  • When you have your wisdom teeth removed, how long does it usually take to recover?

I'm getting mine out next Wednesday, and school starts the week after.

I guess I just want to know if my mouth will bother me at school, because I have no intention of missing any school days this year.

Oh, and how long does the surgery usually take? I think I'm getting four removed, if that makes any difference...

  • Do any of you agree with this study?

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P4_uHM7KSaM

    Youtube thumbnail

    Why or why not?

I personally think it was an absolutely brilliant idea, but love and lust are controlled by different parts of the brain. And I don't think they used enough test subjects, either.

  • What is the best thing to wear for a job interview?

My mom has an interview for a part time job at PetSmart tomorrow, and we can't figure out what she should wear. Any good suggestions? Keep in mind, please, that she's in her 40's.

  • How does one create a new group on Facebook?

I plan on starting a GSA at my school this year, but I need student support. Since I'm not exactly the most popular person there, I figured a Facebook group might grow big enough to convince the school administration...

Oh, and I'm posting this here because the people on the Facebook section of Y!A are all catatonic.
