  • I'm worried about my friend? Please advice :(?

She and I are both 17. She's always been one to obsess over her appearance because she's constantly thinking she's overweight/fat/ugly without makeup etc. Recently though she hasn't been eating much even when we go out to eat she orders a small salad or bread sticks. I'm worried she is getting an eating disorder and she also always subscribes to magazines about women's bodies and how to get skinny and I'm worried she' becoming consumed by the craze. :( How do I help her? Or is it not possible? She's a gorgeous girl and not overweight at all but think's she is.

  • I've been feeling horrible about myself for months?

I'm sure this is normal since I am a teenager ( I'm 16) but it get's depressed and feeling ugly/loser ish about myself. I thought it was just something I was feeling during that time of the month but it continues past that time and I've felt this way for a couple months now. Sometimes, it will go away for a day or two and I'll feel good about myself but then it will come back and I'll cry and feel horrible/unintelligent/overweight/fat/ and hate and obsess over all negative things about me. How do I deal with this? I also have extreme anxiety and this doesn't help.

  • Is it normal to feel this way? high school senior?

Its surreal that I'm finally a senior this fall and I felt like when I was a freshmen I couldn't wait to graduate. Now I'm ambivalent and just feeling anxious. I have choices of colleges that I will be applying to but mostly its just fear of the ambiguity of my future and possible leaving home ( or I might be commuting). I just feel kind of scared because I am now an adult having to make decisions based on living and leaving my parents house. Is it normal to feel this way? I hate it...but I'm not sure how to get it to leave?

  • Do guys like curves on a girl?

I've gained a lot of curves over the summer ( meant to happen as I was a toothpick). But I'm not use to being curvy in the hips and bust. I run 3 times a week also so I'm in shape just..shapely.. Thing is, guys must secretly actually like skinny girls since they are always on the covers of magazines and VS models are thin. So......its hopeless? I'm 18 also.

  • I feel horrible during that time of the month?

Mostly mentally, not actually physically although the cramps are never good. But my mood is horrible and I feel horrible about myself. I'll feel ugly, dumb, and a waste of space and I get extremely emotional/crying/angry etc. I'll feel fine until this occurrence ( I don't know what else to call it) happens usually around the 20th of the month. Then my whole attitude turns terrible and I'm a negative a**. It usually lasts a week after and prior to my period.

How do I deal with this? It sucks and I've had it since I was 13. I'm now 17. :( Any advice?

Can anyone help me out there???

  • How do you know if your attractive looking?

I have really low self esteem to begin with and so I never think I look that great. I run 3 times a week and do ballet so I'm in pretty good shape physically. But my face...how do you know if you have a pretty face? I'll try my best to describe myself; I have dark brown eyes, curly auburn hair, dimples, fair skin, and nice teeth.

  • What makeup should I start out with for a beginner?

I've never really worn makeup unless you consider lipbalm and eye gel. I usually try to perfect the natural beauty look but I wanted to buy a few makeup products. Eyeliners? Eye shadows? mascara...Any advice beauty experts?

  • Will long walks help with my anxiety?

I have bad anxiety. Always have. I've found different ways to try and deal with it, but its hard. I was wondering though. Would walks( long being around 3 miles) help with it any? Just to relax? Or would that have the opposite effect? i'm 18 also. Thanks to anyone who answers. :)

  • My mother won't let me have a guy in my room?

The only reason It would be nice for her to bend the rules is because its nice to just chill and relax without my whole family over hearing our conversations. My room allows that. Besides that. The guy is just a really good friend of mine and we've been good friends for a long time, but we're not dating or anything. I'm 17 he's 19. Anyway. Do you think this is fair? Should I just forget it? Its not that important honestly, it just upsets me that she doesn't trust me. ~Cheyanne.

  • Does age matter a lot in a relationship?

There's a guy in one of my college classes who I have been friends with for a while and he just recently asked me out for a movie dinner/date. He's really shy and nerdy and quite the gentleman ( always holds my books/opens the door), he's really sweet! :). Thing is, I just turned 18 and he's 20. Is that a big difference? Does it matter a big deal?

  • How to gently let a guy down?

There's a guy in one of my college classes who i have become really good friends with. He's pretty nerdy in a comic/videogame type way and I like him a lot as we have a lot in common ( as a "friend"). But he's been hinting at for awhile now at going on a date and he's told me he really likes me. I've been kinda trying to avoid the subject because I'm not really looking for a relationship right now ( of which he said he was). I just want to stay friends but I'm afraid of hurting his feelings and him being mad at me. :( How do I let him down gently while remaining good friends? ~Sara

  • Don't fit in with kids my age? Advice?

Hello, I'm 17,female, and a junior in high school. I don't have many friends, mostly because I don't find I have much in common with them. I've noticed I like different things than many of the teenagers I meet. Such as music, hobbies, life in general.I love cooking/baking, yet many of the teens I meet find that a chore.I lean more towards indie/alternative rock music than more pop-ish music. I love reading and writing, ( I write a blog about politics/social issues). I like house decorating, buying/looking for furniture. I'm wondering why I can't find many people with common interests? I'm not into partying, as I'd rather write or spend my time doing something productive. Am I Strange? And by that I mean different? My mom just says I'm very mature for my age, but why can't I meet people who are similar? Maybe once I'm out of high school? Please excuse the very long paragraph.
