  • Can you use other adjectives in the same format as ~てよかった?

For example, instead of using よかった, could you use 恥ずかしかった to say something like: "I was embarrassed because I couldn't dance" or something else in that format? If not, then what could be used as a substitute?

  • Why do some people think that atheism is one of the worst things that someone can do?

I'm not about to start spewing off hate about religion, but I can't understand why some people send so much hate to atheists. I use "some" because I know that not everyone engages in this hate. It is difficult to be who I am, especially since I grew up in the southern U.S. I don't think I should have to hide my beliefs out of fear of being persecuted. My morals are completely normal and I just want to enjoy my life. We should all be able to get along.

  • I'm overly nostalgic and don't really act like my generation. Anyone have similar problems?

About a year and a half ago this started. I started completely losing touch with my own generation and grew a preference to older generations. I even act like I'm much older than I really am. I now watch old TV shows, movies, etc. from 50-70 years ago and listen to music from the 1910s to 1940s and even earlier (I'm 18). I have even planned out a second lifespan if I were to have been born much earlier to experience my favorite time period and actually live then versus now. I think I might like history too much. I'm not really asking for a solution because I don't really want to stop, however this may affect my life when I have to get with modern times. I was just wondering if this happens to anyone else.

  • Can someone help translate old Japanese handwriting (WW2 era)?

I've already asked this before but I'm just going to try different categories.

I made this video of some WW2 Japanese photos that I bought. I understand that few native Japanese can even understand these old characters, but I just thought I would ask anyway.

I need help mostly at 2:55, 3:00, 3:05, 3:10. This is a postcard from approximately WW2 written (I think) in Japanese Kanji.

I could also use some translation help at 0:31, 0:41, 0:52, 1:06, 1:25, 1:45, 2:06, (if you can read it) 2:11, 2:21, (if you can read it) and 2:50. These are just handwritten captions on the backs of some photos. Some of the background signs that I requested are probably in Chinese because the Japanese soldiers are in China.

If you think you can translate it, but can't read it because the video made it blurry, I could email better quality scans of it to you if you give your email address.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

  • Is it legal to take short video clips (no audio) from a documentary without permission?

I was thinking about making a YouTube video and I want to take a few short video clips (10, 15, 20 seconds long) from a documentary to use on it. They would be WW2 clips, so would they be public domain or would some still belong to news companies? If possible, please provide a link that explicitly states the requirements.

  • Why are seasons 31 through 36 of Saturday Night Live missing from Netflix?

I was really looking forward to watching these seasons, but I just saw that they aren't there anymore. When were they removed and why? This is one of so many shows that I like that have either been severely cut down or taken off completely and it's really starting to annoy me.

  • Why hasn't the soundtrack for Gran Torino been released yet?

Does anyone know? I couldn't find anything online aside from it not released. Kyle Eastwood and Michael Stevens made it, the same people who made the Letters from Iwo Jima soundtrack, and that got released.

  • Can someone help me identify these relics?

I bought these, so I didn't dig them myself. Most of the ones I need to identify are military, from about WW1 era, from a military camp. I don't need help with every item in the video, because some are obvious, but if you can give me some extra information, I would appreciate it.

  • How do I explain when to use "do" in a sentence to someone?

I trying to help someone whose primary language is not English how to use "do" in past tense form. I am finding it difficult to explain this myself. Such as in the sentence: "did you...." Normally, I would say to use it when a task is completed, but how do you explain accurately when you would use it in the above sentence format. I know how to conjugate , so please don't just answer with a conjugation chart. I just want to know how to simply explain this.

  • Why can't I find these songs from these records online?

I have a old record with the songs :When the Robin Sings His Song Again" and "Cookhouse Serenade" by Billy Cotton and his band. I just wanted to listen to a better quality version of it online, but I haven't seen either of them online. They weren't even included in the discography of Billy Cotton. Does anyone know why this is?

  • Can anybody translate this Japanese writing from WW2?

    http://youtu.be/ebaI2K-fkoY

    Youtube thumbnail

I recently bought some WW2 Japanese photographs and some have captions written in Japanese. I also bought a WW2 Japanese postcard also in Japanese. I made this video that has all the various captions coming after the photo it is on the back of. The postcard is at the very end.

The fact that I don't know the whole story behind these things really bothers me.

  • Pre WW1 military base in Texas City, TX?

I think it was an army air corps base. Just before WW1 began I believe. I can't seem to find much online for some reason.

  • Why can't I find certain songs from the Fallout 3 soundtrack on ITunes?

I was searching ITunes for the songs on the Fallout 3 soundtrack and I noticed that I could find all the songs except the lyric-less jazzy songs. Is there a reason that only that type of song is unavailable. It seems to be a very strange coincidence. The songs I couldn't find are: Boogie Man -- Sid Phillips, Jolly Days -- Gerhard Trede, Fox Boogie -- Gerhard Trede, Swing Doors -- Allan Gray, Rhythm For You -- Eddy Christiani, Jazzy Interlude -- Billy Munn.

  • Is there a Fallout 3 Galaxy News Radio Soundtrack?

By this I don't mean the suspenseful music, etc. If not, why don't or can't they make one? The same question for Radio New Vegas. I've seen that they have soundtracks "inspired by" the games, and includes some from the games, but I've never seen a complete set of the ones from the game. Since they are mostly very old songs, shouldn't they be on Public Domain anyway?
