  • Will heavy rains destroy my flowers?

I live in the Midwest where we are experiencing extreme heavy rains (8-12 inches) and flooding in some areas. I just planted some flowers (a variety) in late May and when I look out my window they are literally in a pool of water. Is this going to kill them?

  • Registering for baby soon - need advice?

I am going to be registering for my baby shower in the next month and this is my first baby. Experienced parents - what items could you not live without out? What items were a waste of money and space? Was there an item you wish you had put on your registry that you didn't and now regret?

My 20-week ultrasound is this Friday. Besides discovering what the anatomy is, what other things do they check for? Thank you!

  • Pick-me-up gift for sister?

My sister was recently in a bad 4-wheeler accident (she is going to be fine) and is in the hospital. She lives in another state and I can't go see her at this time. I wanted to send her something other than flowers to lift her spirits. Any suggestions?

  • How do you get rid of someone who has become a "cling on"?

I met this girl at the last neighborhood where I lived. She seemed very nice. Since then she has become almost obsessed with wanting to be my friend. She calls all the time and shows up at my house sometimes unannounced and stays for hours. We have nothing at all in common. She is several years younger than me, we have different values and her husband is scary. I can see where she tries to use her currently bad situation with her husband to manipulate me and I honestly see that her next step is to show up at my door with her son and ask me to live here. It may sound bad, but I just don't want to be her friend. How do I terminate the friendship without hurting her or worse?

  • Anyone have a faint line on pregnancy tests?

My husband and I have been trying to conceive for a year now. I was waiting for my period this month so I could call my gyno because she was going to put me on Clomid. Well, I am two days late so I took a First Response test and one line is very clear but the other one is faint. So, I went and bought a Clearblue and the plus sign is there but it is also very faint. I have been having period symptoms (slightly tender breasts, VERY emotional and crampy - like when I move or laugh really hard I get a powerful twinge). I am going to try in a few days but they will be the longest days of my life : ) !!! What do you think - could my dream finally be coming true?
