  • Volunteering opportunities?

Im looking for different ways I can volunteer in my local community. I really am looking for religious free opportunities in my local area. I am in Fort Worth Texas and I am having a hard time finding something that is not affiliated with the church. Any direction would be great, thank you.

  • Do you think we evolved from the ocean?

Many say we came from apes, and I can see why, however if you look at different theories some are very interesting, and hold some truths.

Look at humans, we have webbed feet and hands, babies are born underwater and have the ability to swim as infants. We can see under water and some people can hold their breaths for as long as 20 Minutes. Our skin is not covered in fur and becomes slick under water. We walk on two legs instead of 4. Our vertebrates are very flexible. In many desolate villages across the world people are still catching fish with their bare hands/ mouths.

What if over time apes that we evolved from, went into the ocean to hunt for more food and became adaptable to the ocean life? What if we are land mermaids??

  • The Biblical God is NOT pro-life, he advocates child murder, infanticide, child abuse and abortion?

Numbers 31:17 (Moses) “Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every women that hath known man by lying with him.” In other words: women that might be pregnant, which clearly is abortion for the fetus.

Hosea 13:16 God promises to dash to pieces the infants of Samaria and the “their women with child shall be ripped up”. Once again this god kills the unborn, including their pregnant mothers

1 Samuel 15:3 God commands the death of helpless "suckling" infants. This literally means that the children god killed were still nursing.

Psalms 135:8 & 136:10 Here god is praised for slaughtering little babies.

Psalms 137:9 Here god commands that infants should be “dashed upon the rocks”.

    The murdering of children:

Leviticus 20:9 “For every one that curseth his father or his mother shall be surely put to death: he hath cursed his father or his mother; his blood shall be upon him.”

Judges 11:30-40 Jephthah killed his young daughter (his only child) by burning her alive as a burnt sacrifice to the lord for he commanded it.

Psalms 137:8-9 Prayer/song of vengeance “0 daughter of Babylon, who art to be destroyed; happy shall he be that rewardeth thee as thou hast served us. Happy shall he be, that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the stones.”

    Child abuse:

Genesis 22:9 & 10 “And they came to the place which God had told him of and Abraham built an altar there, and laid the wood in order, and bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar upon the wood. And Abraham stretched forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his son.” It matters not that god let Abraham get out of murdering Isaac. To put a knife up to your son’s throat is child abuse.

( there are many many more verses like this one )

In conclusion I shall end this list with a verse that should keep the pro lifers in check. It is Romans 13: 1-7

“Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which god has established. The authorities that exist have been established by god. Consequently, he who rebels against the authority is rebelling against what god has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and he shall commend you. For he is god’s servant to do you good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword for nothing. He is god’s servant, an agent of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer. There fore it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also because of conscience.

This is also why you pay taxes, for the authorities are god’s servants, who give their full time to governing. Give everyone what you owe him: If you owe taxes, pay taxes, if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor.”

Clearly it is the job of Christians to obey the laws, and the laws of this country clearly state that abortion is legal. So too should Christians respect and honor that law. God commands them to NOT disobey, which entails attempting to get the law overturned. If god wanted abortion to be illegal he wouldn’t have appointed authorities to make it legal???

  • Why do Christians want to keep prayer in schools? When Jesus said NO?

The Christian attempts to put prayer into schools run directly counter to biblical teachings. Jesus said prayer should be a private affair devoid of public display: "And when you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites; for they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and at the street corners, that they may be seen by men. Truly, I say to you they have received their reward. But when you pray, go into your room (or closet.) and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret..." (Matthew 6:5-6 RSV). Biblicists violate this on a regular basis and have no intention of correcting their behavior. They demand that evolution be taken out of the curriculum. They demand parochial school receive voucher programs so that they may collect public funding. Christians continuously pray in public, IE: churches, street corners, schools, courts, etc. yet all the while they never stop to think this is in direct violation to the god they pray to.

  • Who is more likely to go to hell?

Christians who for the most part.... Are liars, closed minded and most of all huge hypocrites... ( Yet they tend to cover their actions up by religion or " God forgives me'

Or are non-believers who are by far more open minded, show apathy and compassion for others and are more able to love with an open heart?

  • How can religious people truly love?

When in their religion ( I am talking about all here) Have strict restrictions on love, whether it be not to love gays, non believers, fornicators, etc.... So how can you really LOVE with your hole heart, when in religion there are so many restrictions?

Love is not supposed to be hypocritical..... But an emotion our whole hearts should feel towards each other.

  • Why is Jesus so mean to Trees?

Im a tree hugger, and this is just an OUTRAGE! You can read this is in Mathew 21:19 and Mark 11:13-14 I will recap for you, just because Im awesome.

So Jesus is walking from Bethany and he's feeling a bit peckish. He encounters a fig tree, but unfortunately it is barren as its the off season of the figs. Annoyed, Jesus demands the fig tree to bear him some fruit. However the fig tree doesn't respond ( its a tree) so Jesus, in an act of uncharacteristic rashness, curses the tree to death. This story is weird because Jesus acts so harshly. OK so he is hungry, and we all get cranky when hungry, but come on, the fig tree did nothing wrong! This seems like an abuse of powers to me.

Why was Jesus so darn mean to that poor Tree?!!! I thought he was loving?

  • Christians: Do you really believe a donkey can talk?

Well you kinda have too since its in your Bible! Numbers 22:28-30

Moral of that story is don't beat animals, they will have a Dr Phil moment and tell you it hurt his feelings!

So lets be honest here, out of all the fairy takes I think Aladdin and little Mermaid makes more since. Why do you actually believe this stuff?

  • Okay People... I have proof God is gay. Marvel with me won't you?

    Found in: Exodus 33:23

it's a big day for Moses. He's finally going to meet God face to face and is giddy with anticipation. Soon time comes and Moses positions himself on a rock ready to see the divine creator himself. But God backs out and the last minute claims that no man can see his face and live. However, he has a Solution! He will let Moses have a peek at his backside. " And I will take away mine hand, and thou shalt see my back parts: but my face shall not be seen. " Moses must be heartbroke. He was hoping to see God's face not his bottom!!!

Imagine explaining that to his wife " Oh honey, did you see God's face??" " Umm not quite... I got a great look at his bum though! " Moses must have slept alone that night.

The moral of this story? God works in mysterious ( and slightly gay) ways.

So what is your take on this story from the Bible? I am very curious.

  • Your Taking on 1 Kings 18:25-27??? Again, lets be honest...?

Before Byron, before Casanova there was David. Young and in love. David desperately wants to mary Saul's daughter Michal and offers saul anything he wants to let him marry her. What could Saul possible want? Money? A vow of Love? No. saul wants foreskins. 100 to be exact. Why? Who cares. David finds this odd, but then again this girl was hot, so he goes out and kills 200 men, and collects their foreskins. It's only then he rememebers that he only needs 100 foreskins. Oops oh well, maybe if he hands over twice as many foreskins, Saul will be doubly impressed. Indeed he is and dully hands over his daughter to David.

Moral of the story? Never be shamed to do crazy things for love?

How can people actually buy into this stuff?

  • Your take on Genesis 38:8-10 now Christians.... lets be honest here.?

A story so eponymous it gave way to its own neologism - onanism an archaic term for masterbation.

Basically God kills Er. Why? We don't reall find out. However in a stroke of good luck Er's father Judah, has given you the right, nay the duty, to have sex with your dead brother's wife. Onan is a bit apprehensive at first, but agrees to go though with the bizarre sheme to create a " true heir" to Er. he begins to have sex with the girl, but at the last minute decides to pull out and spill " His seed upon the ground" God is so irked he decides to kill Onan too, and thus nobody gets the Heir. This story is the basis for the Christian condemnation of masterbation and birth conrtol.

The moral of the story? In the words of Monty Python, " Every spern is scared."

  • Why do you go to Church?

Why do you really go to church ( If you go)

I just don't get the flakiness or the hypocrites that cling on to religion, or " God" Don't you think life would be more fulfilling if you were not a puppet? We are all put here on earth for a purpose, would you rather not discover that with an open mind, or be told what to do 24/7?
