  • Is it safe for an israeli to travel to Jordan?

There is a peace agreement between the two countries and tourists do travel between countries, but that s all on paper. What is the situation like on the ground? I am American born and raised in America, but my parents are israeli and I m fluent in English and hebrew and my whole family lives in Israel so I m like israeli too.

    Thanks

  • Would I get arrested for stalking in this purpose? What qualifies stalking?

Okay guys, real question here... Hypothetically speaking... If I lived near a big time athlete or celebrity's house and I know there address, what would happen if let's say, I would drive around their neighborhood, and wait for them to come out. Let me clarify. This athlete is very young, and during the offseason, he lives in a small house that he grew up in with his family, so I wouldn't be driving around mansions and everything like that. What would happen? Like for example, I see the athlete's mother or father come out of the house, and I roll down my window and ask if the athlete is home... This may sound very stupid and immature, but I never knew what defines stalking and if it would be a crime. All I really would do is wait for them to come outside (in the offseason, when the season is over, that way I know the athlete is probably home with his family on vacation.) What really would happen? If I ask for a picture or an autograph or something? Also, some athletes' family in my neighborhood, (parents specifically), have left their address and phone number on the Yellow Pages website. What would happen if I just called to ask? Serious question... Jail time? Would I be sued/fined? And how much? Thanks

  • Want to teach myself a foreign language over the summer? Please help?

    Hey all,

For as long as I can remember, I've always had a knack for languages. Everything just sounds so interesting for me. I've always wanted to learn another language. I am bilingual, as I fluently speak English and Hebrew. In the house growing up, I was brought up with Hebrew, so I never actually had to "learn" it in a classroom setting because I was fluent by the time I was already 5, maybe. In any case, I have summer vacation now, and I'd love to learn another language. I'm really confused as to which language I want to learn. If I choose the language, I will devote a lot of hours to it over the summer, and I hope I can be more or less fluent, if not definitely able to get by in 3 months at the end of summer. I'm really motivated. Which language should I learn? I hear the best way to learn a language is to immerse yourself in it. Where I live, there are many, many Russian speakers, so I would have the best chance to immerse myself with that. But I also feel like I want to try something else. Not really spanish or french, I feel like those are "generic", but then again, I want to learn something useful. I was thinking maybe Swedish? Dutch? German? I know Arabic has some similarities to Hebrew, which I already know, but i wouldn't wanna learn that. Maybe Italian? Portuguese? Which language is rather easy to learn that I will be able to study? All help appreciated!

    Thank you

  • Getting back with ex girlfriend? Really complicated. Please help me!?

So here's the story. We went out for a year and three months and for the last month or so we were arguing nonstop and we both hurt eachother. (yes physically). It got really bad... We ended it in December around Christmas time. Two nights ago, I was sitting in the library at college doing my own work, and she comes up to me and asks to talk to me. We asked how things have been, the family and stuff like that. Then a 5 minute conversation turned into a 45 minute conversation. We both apologized to eachother for ending the relationship in a bad way and acting immaturely. Until this point, we would see eachother in school and not care, just avoid eachother. Then she asked me if we can be friends at least and be civil, to which I agreed. Later that night before she left, we cuddled on the couches and kisses on the head and cheek (not making out). She was telling me how the past few months have been hard for her because she's alone and lonely and she misses me and maybe wants to get back together with me.

Then last night, there was a huge party that we both got invited to. We walked over to the party together, and we agreed we wouldn't be attached to eachother, but we would come over to see how everything is going. Basically, we both got tipsy, she hooked up with some other guy, and I asked her if she still wanted to get back together. She said she didn't know, we went upstairs and we hooked up. For the first time in months. I think I made a really bad mistake...

  • Where do you save up money? How many accounts? Retirement?

I'm 20 years old, in college, trying to learn as much as I can about saving up money.

How do people save up money? Simple question. If I make $"x" annually, I have to worry about everything. So for example, emergency funds, great. I have a checking or savings account which I only use in case of emergency. What about saving up for big things like a down payment for a house, purchasing a car, and vacations? I'm graduating from college in 2 years and I'm trying to learn as much as I can. Do all those big save-ups go into one huge account? (Other than the emergency funds) How does all this saving work?

    Thanks!

  • Max out on 401(k)? College grad help please?

    Hey y'all,

I'm in my 2nd year in college, 2 more years to go. I'm double-majoring in business management and marketing, I probably wanna get into consulting maybe. I've been really interested in investing and saving up for retirement and start saving early. I've read that it's best to max out on the 401(k) so you can save the most, but for a college grad who will probably be making low entry level salary around $40,000, is it even possible to max out? I wouldn't be left with much left. Any alternatives?

    Thanks

  • How to work on financial planning for a college grad?

    Hey y'all,

I'm currently 20 years old, 2nd year in college, supposed to finish in 2 more years. For the past few weeks, I've been really interested in saving up money, making plans and stuff like that for retiring (early), investing, and all that stuff. I don't really understand a lick of the stock market at all. I've understood some things with the 401(k) and other maybe investing and I'm trying to figure out things about compounding interest.

This is gonna sound like a really weird question, but, theoretically, could I go to a financial planner once I'm finished with college and say, "Hi, I just graduated college, I have an entry level job lined up making "X" amount of money, I want to invest and learn all there is about investing and saving up early for retirement and for a good future. Now make me rich". Maybe in a nice way, but how would I be able to go about doing this? I didn't really know how else to phrase it.

    Thanks!

  • Buying an expensive car. Cash, Check? IRS? Please help. Thank you!?

How does this work? Read the detail before answering. This is a fictitious question. Now lets say for example that i have $150k in my savings account and i want to buy an expensive car around $115k with cash. Now in this case I make 50K annually, and I save a percentage of that each year in my savings or checking account, and eventually (even 30 years later), I will have enough money to buy this car. Moreover i do not know anyone neither i am going to get any inheritance or any gift from someone. Can someone explain to me the whole details with the IRS? They really does not even know about my $150k saved up. I do not have any savings account according to IRS. Now if i go out and purchase an expensive car worth around $115k then is it possible for IRS to catch me as a fraud? Why can't I tell them I have saved up this money over time of years and years of hard work? I am just a little bit confused because I heard any payment over $5,000 cash the IRS gets suspicious. This a serious question. Please try your best to answer it accurately and to the best of your knowledge. No irrelevant answers please.

Thank you and have a great rest of your day!

  • Good neighborhoods in Dallas? College grad may be moving there?

    Hey y'all,

I'm currently 20 years old, thinking about calling Dallas my home for the next chapter in my life. I've lived in a really small town in NJ outside of New York City all my life. I can go both for country or city life. I'm a double major in Marketing and Business Management. I have absolutely no knowledge about Dallas, no friends there and have never been there so definitely would appreciate any advice about moving to Dallas.

Where is the best place to live? I'm a young, almost college grad, from the north, and am outgoing, and energetic. I'm all about that fast life, so I feel like I need to be doing something every second of my life or else I'll die of boredom, but that's just how it is up north. I also like to go out to the bars/clubs occasionally. Also, one really important thing is: My small town ranked #1 safest in the state so safety is really really really important for me. I'll probably be looking for a 1 or 2 bedroom apartment. Not looking to spend more than $850 or $900 a month (is that possible, not sure how apartments go in Dallas). I am Jewish and prefer to be close to a temple or synagogue. There is one called Congregation Shaare Tefilla, it's by Preston Rd. and the 635. That's essentially where I'd like to be, but if there are better areas, by all means. I was looking at one specific neighborhood in that area.

  • What race/ethnic group am I technically?

My parents are Israeli, born and raised in Israel. They moved to America and I was born in the US. I speak fluent English and Hebrew. I say I'm Israeli because of my parents although I'm born in America. I never know what to put down, if I should put down "white" because I'd consider myself as a kind of tan color and not exactly white. Also there's an option for two or more races, and I never know what to put down lol

    Thanks

  • Should I fake it to my dad? It would definitely be believable, I just feel REALLY bad if I do this?

My dad said I had to get a certain grade on a test for us to go on a vacation to somewhere I really wanna go to. I got close to the grade, but not exactly. I can easily have someone email me a "fake" email saying I really did get that grade though. I'd feel really bad but it would be awesome. I've been dying to go to this place forever!

  • College Transfer for the fun?

I'm currently a sophomore at a private top 50 four year university. I took a gap year and studied abroad for a year right after high school and came to the school i'm at. I was just wondering if there are any colleges who's application for transferring is free?

Also, let's say I apply to the school as a transfer student and I get in, is there a way to say "thanks for the transfer acceptance but no thanks" or do i definitely have to go to the school?

I'm kind of happy at the school I'm at, but maybe I could change. I'm just being curious.

    Thanks

  • What can I do about this breakup? I can't do this anymore!?

I've been dating this girl for almost a year and a half all through college. We met at orientation during the first week of school last year and have been together up until yesterday. I'm 20 and she's 19. We're both 2nd year students at college and we see eachother just about everyday. She loved me like no other. We were inseparable throughout all our relationship until maybe November. Nothing in specific happened, i don't know what it is from. I visited her family and have met her parents several times and they love me. She's also been to my house several times and my parents love her. We do holidays at eachother's houses, everything. She was the first girl who I had sex with and I love her with all my heart and that will never change.

She says the same about me. That no matter where we are in life we won't forget eachother. We even spoke about getting married and engaged and we got ahead of ourselves, but we both wanted it, and we knew we were too young and it's too soon. We had this whole plan to get engaged and be together forever.

Throughout our relationship, we've fought a decent amount, especially for the past month, we fought like every day or every other day nonstop. We took a break starting saturday which was supposed to last until the end of this week, until she stopped me and said we have to talk last night. She's always encouraged me to do well in school. We broke up and she wants to still be my friend. I don't know what to do with myself anymore. Helpppp

    Hey guys,

I'm a 20 year old college student double majoring in business management and marketing and I came up with an idea to create a certain app.

I have zero computer science skills or coding or ANYTHING of the sort. Is there a way I can pay someone to create an app for me if i gave them a design? Or if and how i can create one myself? How long it'll take me to make? What programs to recommend?

    Thank you all so much!
