  • Which entry/junior level marketing jobs am I qualified for?

I have a Communications degree, graduated last spring, am working full time as a Visual Merchandiser and being paid just barely over minimum wage. I don't really have much marketing experience, mostly retail/customer service. I was a brand ambassador for a few months and volunteered on a marketing committee which consisted of cold calling companies to place ads. I am applying for countless "Marketing Coordinator" positions that I believe I am qualified for, and I have not heard back from a single one. It seems the only job offers I get are for jobs that are way beneath me, ones that would not even require a high school diploma (inbound call centre, etc.). Do I have the wrong idea about what I'm qualified for? What would be a more appropriate position to be going for?

  • What is the difference between T20 and T46 Tassimo brewers?

The Tassimo brewers with the barcodes are really getting popular, and now that they have a few teas and hot chocolates, I'd like to get one. But is it worth splurging for the T46 rather than the T20 or even an older second-hand model from a few years ago? Won't the coffee all taste the same? What are the differences between these machines?

  • Can the executor of a will change its demands?

I live in Ontario, Canada and am 21 years old. A relative of mine recently passed away and left all her money to me. I have two brothers and my mom is threatening me by saying if I don't split the money equally with them, she will convince the executor of the will (her cousin) to ensure my mom gets the money instead of me, or that I can't touch it until I'm 25 or something. Can someone please clarify if this is legal? I thought whatever was in the will had to be followed and there was nothing anyone could do about it. My mom feels entitled to the money and will do anything to be in control of it instead of me, but I want to make sure that I am in control of it (I am responsible with money, unlike most of my family). I haven't signed anything yet but my name is on the will.

  • Is it safe to use the at-home wax applicators from the box?

So lately I've purchased two warm wax hair removal kits. They both contain a tub of wax you put in the microwave, and then a little wooden stick, and neither one has any sort of sanitary seal on the box. The first one is entirely open. Someone in the store could have touched the wooden applicator stick and even the wax itself, put it back in, and no one would be the wiser. The second one is a little better, the wax tub is sealed with aluminum that you peel off, so I know the wax hasn't been tampered with, but it has the applicator stick just loose in the bottom of the box. It seemed like someone had opened the box to take a look inside -- can I trust using either of these or should I ditch the open-wax one and buy fresh new popsicle sticks for applying the second one? Or is there a way I can sanitize the sticks so I can use them? (They are better shaped than popsicle sticks.)

  • Which girl haircuts do you like right now?

My hair is light brown and wavy. I'd prefer something that doesn't require too much styling. The current length is like a grown out bob.. It's about three inches long at the very back of my neck, and the hair gets gradually longer towards the front. And I have straight across bangs. So I can't do anything very long, but I seriously need a new 'do! Any ideas?

  • My lower back is stuck in an arched position. Please help?

So basically a couple days ago I went back to the gym after a month-long break, and my legs were really sore after, so today I did some body weight lunges and squats. Squats require you to stick your butt out, and ever since the body-squats today, my lower back seems to be stuck in this arched position. It is impossible to walk normally, and is also very painful. When I de-arch my back it is extremely painful. How can I get back to normal, or is this severe enough to see a professional?

  • What do I wear to a student career networking event?

I'm going to a round table career networking event for third year communications students (me being one of the students). The topics are advertising, marketing, PR, etc. The event requires "professional 'dress to impress' attire." Could anyone translate this into an outfit for me? My go-to plan was just a white blouse and some work pants, but I'm going shopping tomorrow and anything a little more creative would be nice I think.

  • Is it safe to send my SIN number in an e-mail?

My boss asked me to e-mail her my SIN number so she can fill out some workers' comp info about when I cut myself on the job a few days ago. Is this.. safe? It doesn't seem right. Should I give it to her over the phone instead?

My mom said that you can't wear shorts with heels, because that's for hookers. Is this true?! What are some other rules about high heels I should be aware of?

  • What are some typical administrative and clerical duties?

This might sound dumb, but I want to apply for a position as a receptionist in another city for the summer. I've never worked in an office, but I'm smart and adapt well to new jobs. One of the qualifications is "Experience performing administrative and clerical duties, with a working knowledge of standard office practices and procedures." Is this just making faxes and photocopies and answering telephones? I've done all those things, does that mean I qualify? They say they're looking for someone in university, which I am, so I can't imagine they need someone with several years of experience as a receptionist..? What do you think?
