  • How to reduce to this?

    In a worked out solution I am trying to figure out, this equation is reduced in one step. Can someone please break this up into a step by step simplification. (remember, j is the imaginary number as this is electrical engineering)

    (1/2)*(1/(1-(1/2)e^(jw))+e^(-jw)*(1)/(1-(1/2)e^(-jw)) = 0.75*e^(-jw)/(1.25-cos(w))

  • Proofread German please!?

    Could some one please proofread the first two paragraphs of my german paper...:

  • How do i solve this constant volume thermo problem?

    I have been struggling for weeks on this thermo problem.

    A volume of air (assuming ideal gas)

    P1 = 1 bar

    P2 = ???

    T1 = 300K

    T2 = 700K

    V1 = V2

    M1 = M2

    i have a chart that relates temperature in Rº to sº (Btu/lbm*R)

    what steps do i take to solve this problem???

    I am supposed to be able to do it without moles, using instead the imperial formula for ideal gases (pV=mRT i think)

    How do i write the conservation of energy for this?

    Are equations are needed to solve for pressure here?

    What is the Heat Transfer and Work for each process?

    thank you sooo much for any help!

  • English Grammar question: is it a University, or an University.?

    So one uses 'an' instead of 'a' when the article proceeds a noun that starts with a vowel. But when I say "I am an university student.", 'an' just doesn't sound right to me. Is this some sort of exception where one shouldn't use 'an'?

  • How do I use Company earning/Stock Information to negotiate a raise?

    I have worked at staple for a year now, and I want a raise. I am anticipating my manager's response to be something like "we can't afford to give you a raise based on the current economic situation" Can someone tell me how I might go about arguing for one? I have started investing this year and I had the thought to print out some comparisons of staples earnings. I gotta think that with the loss of office max this year and the acquisition of corporate express this year that they are doing better than other retailers. I just want to come up with something smart that my manager won't be able to argue against.

    Any identification of specific numbers that really show the company's health is kindof what i am looking for. Thanks!

  • I am looking for a clock with the same type of movement as a swiss railroad clock.?

    In these clocks, the minute hand "ticks" every minute to show very precisely what time it is. Where can I buy these? I know the same company that makes the ones for the railway also makes a collection of quartz clocks that are the same as any other clock. That is not what i am looking for. Or if you just know the name of that type of clock movement, that would be great information also.

  • Do 99% of scientists believe in evolution?

    I was reading an article in my always liberal and not always correct college newspaper, The Iowa State Daily. In it, they quote Hector Avalos, professor of philosophy and religious studies as saying the following:

    "The bill sounds good in its language, but the reality is 99 percent of scientists believe in evolution."

    convenient statistic......does any body know of a good source for this number? is it just a poll? what constitutes a "scientist" is this just another miss use of microevoulution to mean macroevoulution? How many statistics professors believe in it?

  • What kind of blanket has the sheets zipped around it?

    When I was in Switzerland, my bed sheets were actually like a giant pillow case for my blanket. The blanket part was inside a large zippered sheet (kind of like a large pillow case). When one wanted to wash the sheets, one would just unzip the hidden zipper and remove the blanket part and wash it. Then you could put on a different sheet/blanket cover. What is this called? Where do I get it? I'm not sure but maybe the blanket was filled with down or feathers.

  • How do i set a default wi-fi webpage.?

    My church just got DSL. I want to hook up an unencrypted wireless access point that the surrounding neighborhood could use. However, I want people to be directed first to the church's website (like how some hotels will direct you to a default page the first time you connect) does anybody know how that's usually done? I'm willing to set up another linux server i have too. I also have windows server 2k, 03, and 08 available to me. I just don't know what actually does the redirect. Is it a fancy access point feature? Please only answer this if you know.

  • Is there 10-34 UNC thread size---does it exist?

    I'm an engineering student taking a class teaching me Autodesk Inventor. In one of the drawings i'm supposed to reproduce, it mentions a thread size of 10-34 UNC twice, once on the bolt, and once on the threaded hole. I can't seem to find any specification for this size. I think the book screwed up but i'm not sure. If this is a real size, is it a standard ansi? Do you know where i can find the specifications for it? Thanks and please only answer if you know.
