I've got a MacBook Pro (2019) 13".
Because I do a lot of power consuming work on it (Lightroom, Photoshop, Logic Pro X etc) I tend to leave it plugged in when working at my desk, which can often be for hours at a time, so just wondering if this will cause any harm to it?
Should I cycle it maybe? so take it out of charge like once a week to give it a full cycle?
I've got no knowledge on this so any help would be appreciated.1 AnswerLaptops & Notebooks3 weeks ago
If I increase the gain on my amp or audio interface, a buzzing increases in volume too. I'm assuming this is just normal?2 AnswersOther - Electronics2 months ago
Last night I plugged my guitar into my Scarlett 4i4 audio interface when the gain was set to max. Obviously, this caused quite some noise and I immediately turned the gain knob down to a normal level.
My only worry is, could this have damaged the audio interface? I've lost about 3 or 4 pieces of guitar equipment to grounding issues and just need some peace of mind as to whether or not the Scarlett is now damaged? And is there a way to check for grounding issues maybe?
Thanks in advance.3 AnswersOther - Electronics2 months ago
So I'm using:
Scarlett 4i4 (3rd gen), only a week old.Logic Pro X
Mic pick up in my acoustic guitar.
When I plug in my acoustic guitar, there is a constant signal being picked up in Logic which, when I turn my speakers up, is a very prominent hum noise.
I literally cannot get it to go away.
Is this a damaged audio interface?
1. I'm aware this may be something called a ground loop?
2. Sometimes, when I touch metal, such as my MacBook, or the casing of my interface, the hum stops.4 AnswersOther - Electronics2 months ago
okay so my I have all of my photos stored on an external hard drive so that my mac's hard drive doesn't get filled with pretty much only photos.
Obviously, Lightroom automatically stores catalogs in the Lightroom folder on the internal drive?
Is it worth moving the catalog to the external drive, with my photos themselves, to keep the catalog with the photos that it refers to, or am I okay to just leave my photos stored externally and the catalog on the mac's drive?5 AnswersPhotography2 months ago
The leader on my 35mm camera film is torn, if I cut out a new leader with some scissors, will it still work correctly?
I understand that this would lead to having fewer exposures available on the film but that is fine4 AnswersPhotography2 years ago
An example would be much appreciated.1 AnswerPhysics3 years ago
If a salt is the main product of a neutralisation reaction, does that make “acid + metal” a neutralisation reaction?
Because, a salt is the product of an acid + metal reaction.3 AnswersChemistry3 years ago
