I saw two people crossing the street while the light was no longer green. One car almost hit them. In this case, if these two people did get hurt because they ran through the red light, should the driver be responisble for their injury? What does it say in the law?
I got hit by a man with a bike the other day. He said to me if I called the police, I would be responsible for his injury. He was the one who ran through the red light, and there was no one for me to see him coming through since I was waiting at the traffic light, and the light just changed and I was about to go. He broke my power mirror, and I have to fix that myself, and he threathened me asking for money as well. Is that true that even if the pedestrians do not obey the law and cause the accident, the driver(with the car) always have to be responsible for the accident? Is there a way to defend yourself if truly the fault was caused because of the careless bike rider or pedestrians?
Please advise. Thanks!10 AnswersLaw Enforcement & Police1 decade ago
