  • How can I prevent my ferret from squeezing under my door?

I just moved into an apartment a few days ago, and when I let my ferret out for his daily play time, he figured out in a hurry that he can slide effortlessly through the crack under my door (it's a couple inches high). This is a big problem because if he gets out he can seriously hurt himself by falling down the stairs. I tried putting in an under the door draft seal, but he learned he can dig it out from under the door. I don't really have anything handy that I can block the door with that he won't be able to move. I'd really like to be able to give him his play time without being stuck sitting by my door the whole time. Any ideas or advice is greatly appreciated!

TL;DR Any idea on how I can block the gap under my door so that my ferret can't get out? Thanks!

  • What is causing tingling in my left hand and a little pain in my left elbow?

Lately, I've been noticing that my hands and feet have been "falling asleep" quite a bit, but I haven't thought much of it. This morning, however, when I woke up my left hand was asleep. I figured it was just from sleeping on it or something, because this has happened before, and it went away after a few minutes as usual. But hours went by and I've noticed that I still have some numbness and tingling in my left hand. Also, later on in the day I noticed that I have a strange dull pain, more like a discomfort, in my left elbow joint.

If it persists i plan to see a doctor, but in the meanwhile does anyone have an idea of what this could be from? I researched a little bit online, but I can't seem to find a clear answer to what is wrong with my arm. I believe it's a pinched nerve, but could it be something else?

I woke up around 10 AM and it's not 6 PM so I'm getting a little concerned. Should I be? :c

Thank you for any answers and advice <3

  • I don't like my boyfriend's friends, help?

My boyfriend knows that I am against smoking, but one of our mutual friends told me that he was smoking about a week ago. When I asked him if he had smoked recently he said "No, i haven't smoked in months" and said yes, you have been, but again he denied it. I finally said "I know you have been, you did around (our friend)". He finally said "Oh... yeah I did."

Later when we were talking about it he said that he lied because he was afraid I was going to leave him, and that he didn't really think about it when he did it, because all of his friends were and they just passed it to him. He claims he's never going to do it again, because he loves me and doesn't want to do anything to make me angry, but I have my doubts.

I think he might do it again just because nearly all of his friends do. Also I think he might just not do it around people we are both friends with so I won't find out. I trust him, and he really means well, but he's too nice, and if one of his friends tell him to do it, he might.

Do you think he might do it again? It's been bothering me :/

I know I can't expect him not to talk to them or anything ridiculous like that, but is there anything I could do?

On a side note the reason why I don't want him smoking is because it smells bad, it's bad for his health, and I've lost many friends because they became jerks when they started smoking, and I don't want this happening to him. I'm not just being an overbearing girlfriend, I want him to be healthy.

  • Are there some apartment complexes that allow exotic animals?

Before I say anything else, please don't answer if you are just going to say that they belong in the wild. If I got an exotic it's not like I'm plucking it out of the wild, I would be buying it from someone who hand raised it, so it's out of the wild anyway. I respect your opinion, but it doesn't answer my question, and it won't change my mind.

I was just curious if there are any apartment complexes out there that allow small exotic animals. I know every complex has it's own rules, but I want to know if you've ever heard of one that allows it.

I'm interested in getting one of the following: Wallaby, sloth, fennec fox, coati, or a muntjac.

They are all relatively small and can be potty trained.

    So what do you think?

P.S. I already know my state allows them so that's not an issue.

    Thank you! :)

  • Could I have a parasite? I have many of the symptoms?

In short I have been experiencing many of the symptoms of having them for quite sometime, such as diarrhea, gas-like pains, crampy feelings... basically alot of lower abdominal issues :(

I don't know if it's related but I have lots of trouble sleeping, and more recently i have been experiencing headaches frequently, and also a lack of appetite. The list just goes on and on, but the thing that concerns me was that I thought I had a roundworm looking thing in my poo. That's what caused me to think that most of my symptoms could be because of this. I also don't know if this is related but I very frequently, increasingly often now, feel this weird sensation in my eyes, usually the right one. The only way I could describe it is like "squirmy". Before I was even all paranoid about this the only way I could describe it is that it feels as if a worm is squirming around in there. None of my other friends say they have felt this, and I read roundworms can get in your eyes. And sometimes, but not that often I feel pressure behind my eyes, and headaches/eye-aches that feel behind my eyes.

My mom is going to take me to the doctor when we come home from vacation in like 11 days, but I just wanted to know what you guys thought.

Oh and lately I've been feeling a little nauseous and lightheaded.

Please, please, please help me :(

They are so cute!! They melted my heart a little and I would love to know what they are :)

I realize the link says they are baby sugar gliders, but that doesn't look like any sugar glider I've ever seen, and I can't find anything like this online. Help?

  • Tattoo locations help?

I've been planning to get a few tattoos, but I need a second opinion the location of a couple.

The first tattoo will be these two bluebirds, one on each shoulder blade. http://disney-clipart.com/bambi/jpg/Disn%E2%80%A6

The next will be a tiny plain black classic three circle "hidden mickey". I'm debating the location of this one. I've been considering ankle, hip bone area, or (in all seriousness) just above my crack (but below the "tramp stamp region"). This tattoo is not really meant to flaunt, it's just a symbol of my love for Disney. I kind of like the third option just because it really will not be a problem, like an ankle on could be, and if I gain weight, hopefully it wouldn't stretch as a hip one might.

Finally I want to get a Toy Story character (more than likely Rex or Ham, but who knows? I just saw the 3rd movie and Lotso stole my heart!), no ideas where yet but it will probably be pretty small, like 3-4 inches all around.

Give your opinions please! I only ask two things. Please don't try to discourage me from getting them at all, and please only suggest places easily hidden by clothing (Disney doesn't allow employees to have visible tattoos). Thanks everyone! (By the way this is a repost because I don't see the other one...)

  • Matching tattoo location?

My girlfriend and I really want to get matching tattoos, but we can't seem to agree on a location! Because I plan to work for Disney I can't have any visible tattoos at work, so I thought the top of my foot would be a good place, seeing as my back is spoken for, and I would never get one on my stomach. It's kind of cheesy but I also wanted it there so when I'm feeling sad i would be able to see it easily. My girlfriend doesn't really like the idea because she thinks it would hurt too much. What I really was wondering is in your personal opinion, do you think if we gpt the same tattoo in different locations that it would still be as sweet and meaningful as getting them in the same spot? Should we go ahead and get it in different spots, or try harder to agree on a spot?

  • What do pet stores do with older ferrets (or rodents)?

I'm just curious. I was just thinking about ferrets because I really want to get one, and the thought just popped into my head. My first choice is to adopt, but I am not against getting a ferret from a store like Petco (and yes I know they are Marshall's ferrets and thats fine, they need love too!). But what do pet stores do with ferrets that aren't sold? I imagine the pet stores wouldn't want them after they reach a certain age because they would be harder to sell. Do they just lie about the age, or do the put them down or something? If they do put them down that's really cruel, but I was just wondering...

PS- I was thinking about adopting whatever is at my local shelter, which is usually just none but occasionally one or two, and then buying a couple from a store when the time comes, so this is why I am wondering. If I buy from a store I will take the older ferrets if something bad will become of them.

  • Question regarding Petco Ferrets?

Does anyone know how many ferrets Petco generally gets in at a time? Mine has had the same 4 for a while. Do they always get the same number in? Does it vary?

This sounds silly but I'm wondering because I'm planning on purchasing, and this is how I'm thinking (it's crazy!):

My girlfriend and I are planning on buying three ferrets. 3 because I know that its best to get more than one so they are never lonely. But I also read that they suffer from really bad depression that can kill them if their buddy dies. So I figure if I get three and one dies (worst case scenario :( ...) that the other 2 will not be as sad because they still have each other. But if Petco always has 4 like mine does, me and my girlfriend are considering getting all four. This is because we figure they have been together for so long (they have been the same ones for quite a while, all four). We think it might depress the remaining one if we take all his buddies, and we fear it will have the same affect as if they died...

Are we way over-thinking this, or does my crazy guilty thinking make sense?

Also, I know that Petco has Marshall ferrets, and I'm fine with that. They need love too! <3 And, yes we do have the time and money to support them. We are both ferret lovers, and will spoil them rotten! :)

Thank you guys so much! :D

  • Ferrets in indoor stores?

This is kind of random, but I remember before Halloween that I was in one of those "only comes around once a year" Halloween decoration stores, and I was walking around and notice this girl is there with her mom and she's holding a ferret. Even though she was holding it, it had on a little leash and harness, but it still surprised me. It was absolutely adorable and made my day because I love love love ferrets, but it was like wow.

So what do you guys think? Are stores okay with people carrying in small pets like she did? I know places like Home Depot and Lowe's don't care, but I once read that some lady took her puppy to Target. Can I theoretically start taking my buddy with me to non-food-serving stores? Do any of you ever take your pet to stores? Will they kick you out?

  • Is this a good time for me to get a ferret?

I asked another question regarding ferrets earlier, but I don't think it was received the way I had intended, so he's try two :)

I have really been wanting to buy or adopt a ferret but my mom isn't sure that I can handle ownership in all aspects (vacation, college, vet bills, etc.) Here are the facts:

    I'm turning 16 in 15 days.

I will more than likely be getting a job this week (Paid internship opportunity, hours aren't long at all, so with summer coming up I should be home for most of the day.)

I realize that ferrets need a special diet, and lots of attention, and I can provide this.

In two years I will be attending college studying hospitality and living in an apartment with my girlfriend.

I have read up on ferret care and housing and such, but I have yet to find anything about college life with a ferret.

I have found two friends willing to take care of a ferret while my family goes on vacation.

I would really like to know if this sounds like a good time for me to get a furry friend.

  • Would I be able to own a ferret while attending college and living in an apartment?

I have really been wanting to adopt or buy a ferret, and my mom doesn't seem all that against it, but she's worried that I won't be able to take care of it properly during college. I will be attending college in 2 years, and if all goes as planned I will be getting an apartment with my girlfriend. I believe that because I will be living with someone else that it would get plenty of attention everyday. I'm not entirely sure if I would be working while going to college, but I would like to maybe do a paid internship for Disney. I am very responsible and I know that if I were to get a ferret that I would make the necessary changes in my life to accomidate it. Do you feel that I would have the time and money to own one?

  • Disney college program question?

(I posted this in the college section as well. I didnt know which section I would have better luck in.)

I want to work for disney, and wish to be part of their college program, but I'm a little bit lost on some details. I watched the whole online presentation and searched the site, but I'm still confused. Here's a few of my main questions (even one answered would be amazing):

-Do I have to attend a college like UCF or UF while I'm in the Disney college program, or does the college program count as college schooling? Can I just participate in the college program without going to another college?

-Do you have to pay to be part of this experience? I know it is a paying internship, but I'm fuzzy on the concept.

-Does the program require you to take classes with Disney *and* work in the parks at the same time, or do you take classes first, then work?

-If I were to only do the college program without attending another college (if it's possible), would Disney hire me as a cast member?

    Please help! Thank you!

  • Would this be wrong to do to a kitten when adopting?

There's a kitten at the shelter that I work at that I have fallen in love with and I really would love to adopt him.

At the shelter the cats are not in cages, they run around in large cat houses with many other cats and kittens, so they get socialized.

Would it be wrong to take this kitten (now 4 months 22 days old) home with me to a house with no cats or kittens and a dog, when hes used to being around 8 kittens his age at all times and many adult cats?

Sadly I cannot adopt two kittens, which would probably be best. I can however buy him tons of toys and spoil him and play with him every chance I get.

    So what do you think?

Would it be wrong to take him away from everything he's used to?

  • I just don't know what to do?

I'm fifteen years old and I have been volunteering at a no-kill cat shelter for a while now. A few months ago we got in a litter of 5 kittens and their mom, but she refused to take care of her kittens and I don't know what happened to her but she was out of the picture just as soon as she was in it (I believe she got adopted. She was a beautiful tuxedo cat.).

Anyway, one of the kittens, who is now 4 months old (under 2 months when we received them), has really taken a liking to me since he has been with us. He started following me around after his mom was taken away and he was about two months old, and still follows me around every time I go in to volunteer. I believe he thinks I'm mom now. I don't think he ever follows any of the other workers around, but if he does, I don't see it.

He's so sweet. He will follow me until I sit down and he will crawl in my lap and curl up and start purring, without me even touching him. He usually will fall asleep on my lap or play with my hands, depending on his mood, and sometimes he will lick my hands.

I've grown so attached to this kitten. He's like my own. I love him like I love my dog. If it were up to me I would take him home with me right now. It's not up to me though, it's up to my parents, and they don't want cats around the house. We have had two cats in the past, but I guess they are done with cats. They know I'm responsible, and they tell me all the time that I would be a good mom, and I even told them that I would want to pay everything myself, yet they still say no.

I just would like to hear your opinion or advice on this situation. I only get to volunteer maybe once a week of I'm lucky, but like I said, I love him like he's my own and it's hard not seeing him everyday. He makes me so happy (I have depression.). Help please?

  • Average price of a used Ford Mustang 2002-2009?

I'm really in love with Mustangs and really want one as my first car (I'm 15 so I'm getting really excited about owning my first stang!)

So I need to start earning and saving my money for a used mustang but I'm not sure how much I need to get saved up.

    Any help??

I'm not picky about year because I love almost every year and model, but past 2002 would be preferable (It would probably help minimize car troubles).

A general price range would be great! Thanks!
