  • Which school/offer would you pick and why?

I have a 3.92 GPA with 45 college credits at my local CC. I am about to transfer, but I am unsure on what school I should choose.

University of Texas at Austin: I was accepted into their physics program, but their are a few obstacles. I will only receive all my tuition paid for and a pell grant. Yeah, this is more than most people, but I do not have parents, so I will have to get the rest of the money to cover my expenses by myself. I will not be able to get a room on campus and the cheapest apartments are going to cost me around 650 per month. I also have a remaining car loan of 5900 to pay off while I attend school ( I currently have a full time job).

University of Houston: I was offered a full-ride scholarship. That means that I can use the pell grant I receive to pay for my car and be debt free while I attend school. However, this school is not a very prestigious college and I would like to attend a very prestigious college for graduate school. Do you think this would hurt my chances of getting accepted?

Either way, I will be a double majoring in physics and math. I just unsure if I should pick a better school or a free one. Keep in mind, I have no family to help me with my expenses (that is why I postponed college right out of high school).

  • Physics question: Solve for tension of both strings?

A camper that has a mass of 26kg is suspended between two trees. The ropes suspending it have different lengths and angles. R1 = 28 degrees, R2 = 71 degrees

Find the tension on each string.

I know how to solve for tension of same angles, however, this is the first time I have encountered such a problem.

  • How is Progressive for auto insurance?

I am a veteran and a USAA member, so my insurance is a slightly lower than the average person. However, I recently got a claim from Progressive that they could give me the same coverage for $850 dollars (200 less than USAA). Is this too good to be true? My USAA agent told me that they were probably pulling a bait and switch; they would probably raise my rates as soon as I signed the policy.

Does anyone have any feedback or information to share about Progressive? Is it really that affordable or is it just a scam?

  • Christians, how would you feel if ...?

you had a daughter and your "virgin" daughter got pregnant out of nowhere? What if she claimed that god did it? Would you believe her?

Wait, whats that? You don't believe anyone can just get pregnant out of thin air? Hmm, this makes me wonder about the so called "virgin" Mary.

  • Did you know that I can walk on water?

(as long as it is frozen)

And, I can also turn water into wine (with the help of yeast and sugar). I haven't been able to raise the dead...yet. However, I caught a few mermaids when I went fishing for men.

Does that make me a God?

  • Aren't most politicians of the Abrahamic Religions?

Now I know this is just a stereotype but,

    aren't most politicians liars?

Do you think these two things are related?

  • Christians, do you teach your kids about how the bible is?

"the truth?" Or do you allow them to choose for themselves?

If you do force religion down their throats, can you explain why? I mean after all, God loved you so much that he gave you free will. Why don't you love your children like that?

  • Spiritually speaking, who is going to pick up that soap?

Will it be the pope? A priest? An alter boy?

  • Recommendations to build a computer?

Hi, I would like to build a computer, but I would like some advice. I would like to spend no more than 900 dollars. I am looking to for:

A processor with at least 3.2 ghz (not overclocked) of power.

A motherboard and/or graphics card that will allow me to operate up to 3 monitors (two computer monitors and one hooked up to my tv).

A decent and affordable recommendation for RAM.

A quite cooling system. (It does not matter if it is fan or liquid cooled.)

I am also interested in having dual OS. One hard drive with Linux and another with Windows.

I do not want to play any video games on my computer. I just want it to edit a few movies and fast multiprocessing for my school software. I will also use it to watch movies on my TV. I have no preference for the type of chip, as long as it is fast enough.

  • What is the difference between a Con-artist and a priest?

Not including any Catholic priest, are they not different names for the same thing?

    15 AnswersReligion & Spirituality8 years ago
  • Christians, I need your help!?

I am tired of working hard, I want to make a lot of money without working. I have decided to become a con-artist. In other words, I will become a priest. Now I would also like to make up a new religion. I will claim that is the one true faith. I will make sure it contradicts itself in every way possible so it confuses anyone who reads it. I will enforce my religion to dogma and I Kool-aid. I will live off my followers, who will ignorantly put money in the collection plate. However, I will respect women in my religion.

Do you have any advice? Your religion makes all this look easy.

  • Why is the border patrol so anti-christian?

I was looking for Jesus, and I found him. He was working on my rose bushes. I swear this was a spiritual experience. However, one of his friends turned him in to the border patrol, and now he is on his way back to Mexico.

Is the border patrol run by satan?
