My friend recently introduced me to the Italian comic Rat-Man, and I really enjoy it. Unfortunately, I'm returning to the US very soon and my attempts to find an American site or store that sells the comic have been fruitless. Any recommendations for a way to get the comic in the US?1 AnswerComics & Animation7 years ago
I've scanned internet forums looking for the answer to my question, but I haven't found any that quite say what I'm looking for.
I'm arriving in Napoli Centrale on a train. My plan is to take the Circumvesuviana train to Pompeii and go to Vesuvius from there.
What is the name of the Pompeii stop that I get off at, where do I get tickets for the bus (it appears the EAVbus is the best option?), and where do I actually get that bus? Thanks!3 AnswersNaples8 years ago
I'm an American student studying in Italy until around July. I had planned to replace my laptop upon getting home, but today the thing became broken beyond repair, and I need to get a new one now instead.
What is the best way to get an American laptop here? I'd prefer to avoid buying an Italian one because I'd like a conventional American keyboard and English language software.
At the same time, I'm worried, based on past experiences with international shipping that if I buy one in the US and have my parents ship it to me here I may end up paying a fortune in import taxes and have the package caught up for months in customs.
Does anyone have any advice for this situation? Is there a company that sells American computers that ships from inside Italy? Or is there a way to ship a laptop from the US to Italy without having so many customs issues? Thanks.5 AnswersOther - Italy8 years ago
I have an iPhone 4s and will be spending the next year or so on Europe and would love to be able to use it (without paying obscenely high Verizon roaming costs).
If I use jailbreak my phone with a program like absinthe, will I be able to replace the SIM card with one from a French or Italian telecom company and use it there?3 AnswersCell Phones & Plans8 years ago
I have a meeting to secure a long stay student visa in France at the French Consulate in New York City tomorrow. How formal is the dress for this meeting? Is it a suit and tie sort of thing?3 AnswersEmbassies & Consulates8 years ago
I'm going to Europe in the fall for a year and plan to turn off service to my iPhone 4s and get a cheap phone while I'm there. Once the service is turned off, will the iPhone basically function like an iPod Touch in terms of getting wifi and using apps that require internet?2 AnswersCell Phones & Plans9 years ago
Calling for people to take what dignity they have left and resign is pretty much Keith's favorite things to do. I thought it would be pretty funny if there was a list somewhere of all the people he's asked to do so.
Anyone know if something of the sort exists?1 AnswerMedia & Journalism9 years ago
I just finished reading the book Game of Thrones and plan on watching the HBO series, but I don't want to spoil anything for myself before I read the next few books. Does the first season of the show correspond with the first book, or does it go further into the series than that?2 AnswersDrama9 years ago
I'm referring to the scene where Harry and Hermione are camped atop a cliff. The ground surface is extremely cracked. As a geology student, I'm interested if this is a real location.
Presumably, the location is meant to be somewhere in the UK (though I guess it could've been shot somewhere else). Even if this was some sort of set, is there a place in the UK with this geological makeup?2 AnswersMovies1 decade ago
I play college club tennis and consider myself a decent player (though below d-III varsity level). I don't hit with much power, so I usually win points by coming in to net (I serve an volley on my own serve). However, I feel like I miss a lot of volleys that I should be making. While obviously some of it could be mechanical, I wonder if there is anything I can do from an equipment standpoint to improve my volleys.
I've been using Head Liquidmetal 2 strung at 57 (the median value for the racket) for around 7 years. I'm open to a new racket, but as far as my current racket, could I add lead tape or something in a way that would help?4 AnswersTennis1 decade ago
I just got the Backspacer CD today, which I'm really enjoying, but now I see I'm entitled to two free concert downloads. Now, I like PJ, but I'm not a big enough fan to know if there's any concert they've done that's considered the best. Any thoughts on which two are most worth downloading?2 AnswersRock and Pop1 decade ago
I know you can get all the tracks on iTunes, but is it possible to buy a hard copy if you didn't order the $50 dollar deluxe preorder thing?
A couple years ago I picked up on the band the Casual Fiasco. It's great stuff, but I haven't seen any activity out of the band in quite a while. There's no new information on the band anywhere. Did the band break up or go on hiatus or something?
In the final episode, Corder sends the tape implicating Urquhart in the deaths of Storrin and O'Neil to Makepiece. How does he acquire this tape?
I was under the impression that Stamper and Sarah were the only ones with the tape, which were lost when they were blown up at the end of the second series.1 AnswerDrama1 decade ago
I realize that Scarborough is generally very thin-skinned and easily takes offense at any perceived slight, but I can't seem to find the origin of his hatred for Jon Stewart.
I would assume it goes back to some interaction the two of them had, but I watched the old clip of Scarborough on the Daily Show in 2003 and there doesn't seem to be anything bad enough to set Scarborough off, nor does he seem at all offended at the time.
Was Stewart ever on Scarborough Country? Or did they run into each other somewhere else? Thanks!10 AnswersPolitics1 decade ago
