  • Can Kidney damage cause low blood sugar?

A friend of mine almost died 2 weeks ago from low blood sugar, it was 12! He's not a diabetic. After being rushed to the hospital and being there for 2 weeks he found out it was due to kidney damage. He had been drinking the night before, gotten very little sleep, probably nothing to eat, and a lot of hard work at the job. I can see how that would drop your blood sugar but the kidney damage causing it doesn't make sense to me.
