  • What the heck is this kitchen gadget?

My fiance and I bought a whole box of kitchen ware at a yard sale and cannot for the life of us figure out what this gadget is. It works like a pair of tongs or tweezers but is connected at the end with something that almost resembled a FLATTENED mallet but hooked with a little tooth. Does anyone know!? On the side it says 'Stainless' and 'Taiwan' underneath of a chicken or rooster on a nest which I've learned is the old logo for The Pampered Chef. Hope the pics are clear enough to see it...and I've been having trouble with the links so I've separated them.

If these don't work, I'll try it another way...but they should!

  • CD Burning Troubles...How can I free up my drive so Roxio can use it?

I'm having trouble with my Plextor external burner. When I try to select it in Roxio, it tells me 'The device is reserved by another application'. If I try to burn the CD in Windows Media Player, it doesn't finish and comes up with an error saying it was unable to copy the items to a CD. How do I free up my drive so Roxio can use it?

  • Anyone have a copy of Rainbow Bridge for my baby girl Fancy who passed today?

Hey guys. I wrote a question earlier asking what to do about my cat limping...that was before I checked on her today. Everyone told me to take her to the vet, and finally I gave in and called the vet. As I went outside to find her and get her in her carrier, we found her curled up next to our boat and pretty much fading fast. I'm totally heartbroken, and after calling the vet, he pretty much said chances are she was hit by a car. She passed away today at noon at home...the vet pretty much gave us the option. I'd love to have Rainbow Bridge to remember her. Thanks in advance and thanks for all the help with my question earlier, and the support with my question about pet-parent bashing.

  • Some people here are rude. What gives them the right to judge your pet parenting skills so fast?

I wrote in to ask a serious question about my cat and was basically bashed for wanting to avoid the vet. As far as I'm concerned, when I'm sick I also avoid the doctor but ANYWAY. I CAN afford my cats, thank you...I've just gotten laid off in the past month and have been having health problems myself. NONE OF THIS IS YOUR BUSINESS, but if you persist on telling me that I'm not fit to have a STRAY cat? Excuse me, this cat would be dead if it weren't for me. We found her on the side of the road in the pouring rain and she was all skin and bones. I BOTTLE FED HER. I've raised her since she was too young to be on her own and she is like my child. She never goes without. She LOVES me to death and is usually sitting on my lap or shoulder or on top of me feet at ALL times. She sleeps on my pillow if she stays inside overnight. All I asked was if there was a way I could wrap it myself or something...but there are people like Casey B out here who assume they know everything.

  • My cat is limping and takes 10 minutes to move 10 feet. What should I do?

Our cat(was a stray, and is still an outside cat) just randomly started limping and I feel so bad for her. She meows all the time now and is very obviously in pain, but she's never been to the vet and right now we can't afford it. Is there anything I can do to help her?

  • What are some crafty uses for glass Christmas ornaments, besides hanging them on the tree?

I have LOADS AND LOADS of round glass Christmas ornaments and a fairly small tree this year. I've used some in bowls on the end tables, and filled the inside of a glass cake stand with them, and still have a ton left. Any ideas?
