my mom has always been a nag, but she has gotten really worse in recent years. she simply cannot stop nagging...at my dad. i gotta admit that my dad can really do the stupidest thing but she really didn't have to scream, yell, nag at him like there's no tomorrow. she'd get started at the slightest issue (which totally doesn't pose any problems at all, like say, my dad making noise with the spoon unintentionally while he eats) and cannot stop. my dad ain't the kind to observe and do the right things, so he tends to agitate her further. but, at least, he doesn't fight back unless she really gets on his nerves...to which my mom will respond with greater anger or bucket of tears, if he does.
the two of them are really getting on my nerves, even though the verbal abuse aren't directed at me. one cannot stop, while the other doesn't learn (how to make her shut up). i'm seriously thinking of finding a job and moving abroad (which isn't easy) due to my mom...i find her overboard many times...though i can't say my dad is faultless. i don't know why she does that to him, because she's totally okay with me. how do i make her shut up and stop nagging?
her voice itself is loud enough to cause annoyance when she speaks...so it gets really bad when she nags or yell. i feel so ashamed 'cause i'm sure the neighbors can hear her when she does so.
usually i'll tell her to stop it...sometimes she will, but sometimes she will totally lose her cool. i can't handle her anymore...btw, we're a really traditional family and the way my mom really makes me want to stay in my room with my headphones on when i'm at home...and she complains about me shutting myself up. and also, she likes to find fault in the ways we do things so the family members are really sick of helping her at all, and she complains that we do not help. no matter how good we do something, she doesn't like it. plus, she's very superstitious and make us do thing the old wives' way and she gets angry when we don't do it (like applying your pee to your eyes when you get sore eyes)...
that was long but i really need advice...i can't bear staying at home when she speaks because of the way she acts.2 AnswersFamily10 years ago
i've enquired about the pricing for orthodontics/braces at several clinics, but i'm still quite confused. one of the clinic i enquired told me that they charge $100 for each visit i.e. $100 for 1st appt, $100 for the teeth extraction, and $100 for every subsequent visit. the x-ray charges are dependent on ndc's prevailing charges and the actual price will depends on how long i've to wear them.
another clinic told me that the prices are at $150 for each visit, and that the prices for tooth extraction and x-ray depend on the situation.
are these reasonable pricings? will there actually be other additional charges as to those quoted? (as in charges for extraction of wisdom tooth, retainers etc.)...but from what i've read, the total cost of the braces themselves are usually fixed at a lump price, which some clinics may allow to be paid in instalments..
how much money should i set aside for the initial costs (tooth extraction, x-ray etc)? and are ntuc and public hosp really cheaper?4 AnswersDental1 decade ago
