  • Is this normal 3.5 year old behavior?

I babysit a friends little girl who is the same age as my daughter. She is usually pretty good, plays good. They get along great. My question comes down to when her mon/dad come to pick her up, She all of a sudden gets really NASTY and whiney. And if my daughter says hi to my friend or comes close by, her daughter shreeks out "MINE!/ or MY MOMMY!" or grunts/whines. Her parents do nothing as to say that my daughter is aware that my friend is her mom or her behavior is rude. What gives? I hate to say, but her parents give into her A LOT. Whining got her her way, but I don't give in when she's here. It's so annoying. Is she doing this for attention? Also she Freaks out if my 1 year old happens to touch or crawl close by her blanket/bunny (her security stuff). .....I'm going to try to talk to this little girl bc she is hurting mine doing this unexceptionable behavior. Why do you think she does this??

  • baby growing a zit or something?

My 8 month old son has this SINGLE little bump on his thumb and it looks like a zit. It's bump is white and hard, and it's growing a little? Not huge... It can't be baby acne, usually affects the face. bc it's only a single bump and it would be more than just one, he had that when he was younger. I just never heard of it. It's not a wart. Any ideas??????

  • what is your 8 month old's napping and feeding schedule looking like?

Mine seems like he wants to nap EVERY 2 hours on the clock during the daytime. He's usually in bed around 8-9pm and will wake once or twice(usually) during the night. He'll usually get two good 2-4 hour nap. I'm trying to get him on a schedule. Take first nap after the first couple hours of being awake....up for 2-3 hours then get's is other nap, then Stays up at least until 8pm-9pm. Seems to be helping him sleep better through the night. ALSO- how much are your babies eating at this age? Mine is taking 5-6oz of milk every 3 hours, eats breakfast, sometimes lunch, snack and a dinner. Just curious thanks:)

  • Tubal ligation question... please any idea if this is common!?

Tubal ligation question... please any idea if this is common!?

So I had a tubal ligation after my son was born back in Jan 2010. Well, I bfed him for 4 months and my first period came the month after I stopped bfeeding him. He is now 8 months old, and the last 3-4 months my period (i wouldn't even call it a period, it's so light) is VERY light. anywhere from pink to brown-, I don't even need to use pads or tampons. sorry probably tmi, but I need to know if this is common after having a tubal. I just have light spotting around the time of the month Im supposed to get it for about a week or less. Any who HAD a tubal had similar experience?!!? I'm trying not to freak myself out. Please help.

  • breastfeeding question, why all of the sudden am I having problems?

So I breastfed my son. I work at the hospital and use the electric pumps in the ob while I work. But ever since I started using the one from work, it seems like whenever I try to feed my son, the milk takes a long time to come out. I've have to pump most of the time now at home just to get the milk out bc when he latches on, he'll only suckle for a minute but he won't get anything. Then he get's mad bc nothing comes out. Is this because I used the advanced pump at work therefor the suction pressure is more than the pressure of him suckling? Even when I try to pump at home it takes like half an hour to get anything out. What gives? Should I stop using the pump at the hospital? I used to bring my pump, it's a single electric pump but takes a little longer. I love the one at work because it's a double and fast, but I don't know if it is the reason for my breastfeeding problems? I still produce the same amount and pump every 3-4 hours at work. I'm hoping to talk to the lactation specialist at the ob tonight to see what she thinks... but any opinions why this could be happening would be appreciative. I think it is causing a decrease in my milk supply, bc I had to give my son formula a few times just so he could eat. but it just doesn't make sense to me!

  • Infant not pooping? going on day #4?

My son is now 2 months old and he usually poops once a day. Well we are now on day #4 without poop. I heard it's a common thing with bf'd babies. I was just wondering when you think it would be too long? I remember my daughter did this...she was about 2 months, but didn't poop for a couple days. Her ped told me I could get a little prune juice and mix an oz with an oz of water. So I was just wondering if your bf'd babies did this too and how long did they go without pooping?

  • breastfeeding question.....?

Did you find it was easier to feed on one side than the other? I can bf my newborn fine on the left, but on the right, it seems more challenging? Like when he feeds on the right, he's having trouble keeping the milk inside his mouth and constantly pulling away and re latching on. He's now 20 days old. I think I started off with a latch on problem. I hope it get's easier. At least that horrible feeling when they latch on is now gone. You know, like your nipple is getting sliced open. ha

  • Attempted fraud with craigslist listing, what would you do? :)?

I posted an add on craigslist, and someone claiming to be from the UK contacted me via email pretending to be interested in my item. I didn't realize this person was from the UK until I said I would accept a cashiers check from them, thinking it was from a person that lived here locally. Anyways, I caught their scam, (they don't know because they keep emailing me concerned about the money wiring transfer information...haha) They want me to wire the excess funds to the supposed shipper and all this other information. You could tell the check was totally fake. Anyways, my question is that they still think I'm going to send them money.... I felt like saying back I know about your little scheme you little ******, or a big picture of a hand flipping the bird. OR would that be a bad idea and just ignore/block future emails? I feel like saying something mean. I already reported them to craigslist, turned the fake check into my bank telling them it was fake, and some filled an online complaint form with the information they gave me.... what would you do? I know now to NEVER post my email in craigslist and now know what to look out for.

  • Is this normal? 2 year old cries when she goes to bed?

We have the same routine every night, (books, potty, brush teeth, hit the chimes above the door, tuck in bed with her blankys and bunny, kiss goodnight, and lights out, shut door.) but as soon as we close her door, she gets out of bed and cries by the door. Usually last anywhere from 10-15 min max. There has been many times where we tuck her back in. Usually 2-3 times max. Even still, before we go to bed I check on her and she'll be sleeping behind the door, or in her toy box. We took out the nightlight due to the fact she always played with it and could pull it out and I was afraid she would give herself a shock. (she sleeps in her own room, in her own twin bed) Well, the nightlight has been gone for awhile and I decide to try it again, thinking maybe she had been having nightmares. It's actually one of those glade plugin light show ones. (without the oil) We plugged it in behind and it had a long enough cord to hang on the wall so she couldn't play with it. Well, she like it at first, but when we close her door, she was freaking out and kept jumping out of bed pointing to the light and crying? I asked her if she wanted me to turn it off because she seemed scared of it actually. She says no, but she freaks out even more with the light on rather than having no light in her room. As of now, I turn off the light 10 min ago and she is no longer crying but still talking to herself and by the door. Anyone have a similar experience with thier toddler? Is this normal at all? We keep a monitor in our room at night still so we can hear her and her bedroom is right next to ours. We share the wall.

  • TODDLER GIRLS: ADDITIONAL POTTY TRAINING TIPS?

So we just started potty training last week and my daughter (who is 28 months. we tried in past and she wasn't ready) had lots of success going pee on the potty. Not every time of course, but we have came to a schedule that seems to kinda work. We have her sit on her potty right when she wakes up, about 15-20 min after she had her breakfast and drank all her juice/milk/water. and before naptime, after she wakes, after lunch, and about every hour or 2 we have her sit for 10 min at a time on the potty. I want to know what has work really well with potty training your little girl? How often did you have her sit on the potty? Did you let her run around naked or just keep on training pants? I bought her lots of panties and training pants because the pull ups don't really seem they work. They still feel like a diaper to her. I don't think she actually knows when she has to go yet, but she does go sometimes when we sit her on there.

  • ALL Pregnant moms who "GOT" the H1N1 vaccine? Did you get the kids too?

I'm 28 weeks pregnant. I got the vaccine. As what we read and know, it says that pregnant woman are high risk to getting the swine, and "should get the shot. I want to know are you getting your kids vaccinated as well? My daughter is 2, and her father wasn't happy that I got it, (but I work in a high risk field(hospital around patients) where I can be exposed to that crap, whether wearing the protective mask/gowns/gloves or not... ) and doesn't want our daughter to get it.

  • POLL: what would you do?

What do you do when one parent(say mom) is urging that their child be vaccinated and the other parent(dad) completely disagrees and doesn't want their child vaccinated? For topic, lets say the h1n1 vaccine for example. If your a parent and you strongly want your child vaccinated, but your significant other/spouse disagrees and doesn't. What do you do? Do you do it anyways, or not?

  • Dealing with a screamer! How to get it to stop?

My 2 year old daughter has recently learned to scream... thanks to my friend's 2 year old daughter, and my 2 nieces who are 4 and 5 years old. She never did scream, until she copied my nieces in a screaming war. OMG! It is out of control!! She gets excited, she screams. She get's mad, she screams. And all these screams are like ear piercing loud!! We've put her in time out, I sat her down and talked to her, telling her it hurts mommy and daddy's ears, I popped her in the mouth, and gave her a swat on the butt... guess what, still screams... I know it's now going to take some time to break this habit since she just started it. How did you get your kids to stop screaming? Should I like go buy a spray bottle and put water in there and spray her in the face or what? lol She's done it in public places like offices, and grocery stores too. (embarrassing) TIPS ANYONE? :)

Get this, my little nieces have been talked to and my daughter got all excited to see them and was following them around then she screamed and one of them said, "Ow that hurts my ear when she does that", or "Aunty, can you tell Aleigha not to scream, it's really loud?" LMAO!! ha, that made me irritated! lol

But yeah, tips that got your kids to stop screaming please? THANKS!
