  • I have just changed 2 rear tires. The shop says I need to go back to their place to be re-torqued.?

But I am going to road travel tomorrow early in the morning and I cannot go there. It will be 250 miles trip. Is it safe to re-torque after 250 miles drive after new tire installation? My wheels are alloy, so I read a lot of horror stories of people who didn't get re-torqued. Thank you.

  • smoke detector went off, and i pulled red wire.?

Tonight the smoke alarm went off after taking shower. This is the first time to experience this kind of thing. I didn't know how to stop the sound and was upset about the sound and children crying, I finally took the cover and pulled the red wire from the ceiling. The red light on the detector is still on. The brand is Firex FX1020 and I think this is very old. How can I replace this? Because i live in condo, I am really afraid of the loud sound again. Also, how can I find this smoke detector's on/off switch in the electric panel? Thank you.

  • remodeling bathroom...subcontractor complain?

I am in the middle of remodeling bathroom and found out the workers are subcontractors. I asked the contractor whether he was going to use his own men and the owner said he wouldn't subcontract. But this morning the workers were complaining the fee to me and I was surprised they got very few amount of money for what they are doing. They said they are subcontractors. I am paying for the fair amount which the contractor asked. I feel sorry for the subcontracted workers. Is there anything I can do? I am shocked that the contractor told a lie to me about subcontracting.

Does this kind of thing happen ?

  • slow water leak to the neighbor in the condo. Should contact the homeowners insurance company?

I was told from the owner below our condo unit that the ceiling in her shower room had water damage because of the water leak from our unit. I found out our shower room's tiles were cracked and there were mold. We did not notice until today, but I think the long and slow leaks caused the problem. Does the insurance cover it? Is it better to call to the insurance company at first? or Should I call the plumber like the owner below suggested? Thank you.

  • water damage to the ceiling of the owner below in condo?

I was informed that the ceiling(shower room) of the owner below is damaged. Because the owner below does not use that bathroom, she did not notice it. After I checked my bathroom, there were cracks in the tiles and molds in my shower room. I think that is the problem and the water seeps through. Whom should I call to assess the damage? I bought the condo unit last year, so I think the problem have stayed for long time. I am afraid that I need to cover the tremendous costs ahead. ( our shower room fixed, the ceiling below fixed, the mold, condo structure,.....). Does the home owner insurance cover this? I think the problem is not sudden nature, but long time sitting problem. What should I do the first? How much does it cost to fix? I am in a panic.Thank you.

  • Please clarify this meaning?

"Campers swim twice a week and go on a field trip during the first three sessions. "

Does this mean campers swim twice a week only during the first three sessions? I plan to have my son enter the camp. The first three sessions has finished and now is in the fourth session. I want to know whether the next session includes the swim or not. I cannot get through to the administration to ask.

    Thank you for your help.

  • Is it ok to move to the new lender for the refinance?

We cannot still close our refinance for our home after 40 days have passed. We submitted all the necessary information on the day requested. The delay is lender's fault. The rate has expired once, and the current rate is better, but the lender says they cannot honor because they follow the worst case pricing. The lender says our application is approved and is in the final process. But if I move to another lender, I can get a better rate. Can i move to another lender right before closing ?

  • Suddenly, the entire house became dusty.?

I bought a condo 6 month ago. For a few days the bedroom were very dusty and today every single room became dusty. I cannot stop coughing and my eyes became red. My husband has the same reactions. I think the air ducts for AC are the problem. Do I need to ask the air duct cleaning? or I can change the ac filter only (I change every month)? Is there any suggestion I can do to improve the air quality?

  • Suddenly, the AC does not work properly.?

Even thought I set the temperature for 60F, the room temperature is 80F. Until yesterday, if I set the temperature for 78, the room temperature became 78F. What kind of problem do you think the AC has? The air from the vent is not cold. The outside temperature is way cooler than yesterday.

    Thank you in advance.

  • Frigidaire refrigerator's water dispenser doesn't dispense water.?

I bought a condo. The former owner installed the new frigidaire refrigerator. Today I tried to use the water dispenser, but it doesn't work. When I press and hold a glass against the dispense paddle,

I hear the kind of water sound, but no water coming out of the dispenser. I held the glass over 4 minutes. I cannot move the fridge, so I cannot check whether the water line valve open or not.

Is there any solution? Thank you in advance.
