  • Are the eggs in Huxley's Podsnap technique fertilized before they are multiplied to a maximum of 96 clones?

I was wondering if it is the same process as when twins are formed

  • What is the difference between Huxley's Brave New World and real cloning techniques?

In Huxley's novel Brave New World, he describes the fictional Bokanovsky-process etc. This is different from the cloning techniques that are known nowadays, but how is it exactly different?

  • ps3: what hdmi cable should I get?

My tv screen is about 48 inch. Should I get a hdmi cable that supports 1080p or is 720p alright? If the difference is not too big, I don't mind, but if the 1080p quality is a lot better I'd rather get that one.

  • PS3 only 576p on HDtv?

I connected my ps3 to my tv which is capable of 720p at least, maybe 1080p, not sure. I connected it using the cables that come with the ps3 (red, white, yellow), but it will only be in 576p. I went to the settings and tried out 720p,1080i and 1080p, but when I try out those settings I get a blank screen, which I don't get with 576p. I'd really prefer to play the games in HD so any help will be appreciated!

  • Is an iPhone 4S still worth buying?

I'm planning on buying a new phone for the coming 2 years. I'm choosing between an LG G2 Mini and an iPhone 4S. I've got an iPod, iPad and an iMac already, so it would be practical to buy another Apple product. However, I don't want to buy an iPhone 5S or 5C since I'm a poor student. But will an iPhone 4S survive 2 years of updates and stuff?

  • facebook: (unwanted) friends you may know?

So I opened up Facebook today and was casually looking at ''friends you may know''. There were some (a lot of) people there that I used to send mails to. I've been through some situations and I'd rather not have any contact at all with them. It's sort of traumatic. This is simple: I just shouldn't add them. However, I don't even want to realize their existence.

I already deleted my previous email account from Facebook and added a new one. They don't have that e-mail and I don't have their e-mails on that account either. However, they still show up at friends you may know. I don't want to delete my Facebook account, but I also don't want to see their faces anywhere on my Facebook page. Is there ANYTHING I can do to make this go away except for deleting my account?

  • Playing in a minecraft realm without buying the game?

Me and some friends were thinking about buying a realm. However, I'm the only one who has actually purchased the game. If I buy a realm, will they be able to play in it as well?

  • Paintball Mask Size Question?

    Hey guys,

I've been paintballing a lot lately, and this summer (it's still so far away haha) I'll go on a vacation with a group of people. We'll be playing paintball almost every day in a lot of different locations. Anyway, I'd like to buy some paintball gear.

But about the mask: do they come in different sizes, or will every size fit?

I'd like to buy a mask online, since I can't find a paintballshop close to where I live.

  • Reasons of atheists behind their thinking?

My last questions apparently got reported by somebody.

I guess my question wasn't clear enough, so I'd like to ask you these questions another time.

Please note that I'm not trying to offend anybody and that I'm just a person wondering about the reasons of atheists behind their thinking (I've been taking classes about religions and those left me wondering). I'm in no way a religious person hating on atheism.

    1. Why do atheists argue about religion if they are not religious? Why is it a big deal for them?

    2. According to David B, who answered my last question, atheists believe something when it has been proven. I don't get why they believe there is no higher existence/intelligence. It hasn't been proven there is, but it hasn't been proven there isn't also.

Actually it can not be proven at all. There was no time before the big bang, so we couldn't possibly find out if there was somebody who created us or if it was random.

I'd love to get some thoughtful answers.

    Thank you!

  • Should I buy Borderlands 1 or 2?

I'll be playing on Mac OS X and I noticed that 1 is cheaper than 2 in the App Store. I have never played either game and I was wondering which one is better and I'd also like to know if you have to play Borderlands 1 to play Borderlands 2.

    Thanks :)

  • Wordpress for starting blog?

Me and some friends that are studying to become interior designers want to make a blog about interior.

    We want the possibilities:

    - to make a nice blog for FREE!

    - to create a custom design

    - to own a domain name later on

    - to connect our blog with social media

    - to place ads on the blog later on

We already took a look at Blogger, but we didn't really like it as much as we want to like it :p. I also came across the website Wordpress, which looks pretty nice, but I noticed that you have to pay 135 euros per year if you want to place ads or create a custom design and that is preeeettty expensive.

Does somebody have any suggestions on what to do? Should we just use Blogger instead?

  • Can someone help me thinking of Holy Days?

For school, we have to make up our own religious to make sure that we've learned how to understand a religion. Our religion is based on talents.

People used to live in, nowadays called, afterlife. The people and gods lived in harmony. The gods gave each human all the talents that exist, but the humans didn't use them optimal. The gods felt betrayed and they sent the humans to 'Earth'.

    The most important values are:

    1. Being talented (obviously)

    2. Egoism (Because everything you do has to be based on developing talents)

    3. Friendship (Because friends can help you to develop your talents and vice versa, even though you shouldn't help them when it comes to cost of your own development of talents.)

One of the main things is that everybody reincarnates until they've developed all the talents that exist. Also, if someone doesn't believe in talents, you have to reform him. If this doesn't work, you are even allowed to kill him. Killing people that don't believe in talents is not a crime, because they'll reincarnate and then they'll have another chance to believe in talents. Actually, it's celebrated that people are killed to reincarnate. 'Earth's Day' (a holy day of our religion) ends every year with sacrificing humans that don't believe in talents.

My part of the project is thinking of 3 holy days for this made up religion. I already have one, Earth's Day, but I have to think of 2 more. I don't really have any inspiration left. For the second one I thought maybe something as an orientation on talents.. But I'm not really sure how exactly.

It would be great if someone can help me thinking of one or two holy days!

  • Wanting to know everything (OCD ?)?

I think this started when I was about 10 years old. When someone did something, like eating my cookie without my permission and they didn't want to admit that they did it even though I already knew they did, then I would force them to tell me the truth and when they admitted I wanted to know everything... Like why they did it etc.

I even lost some friends and the love of my life because I couldn't not answer the questions. When I had something on my mind I had to tell them and I needed to know everything about it. ''Why did you do it? How did you feel? Did you know that ... ? If you had known that, would you still .... ?'' etc. I can go on for months like that, even if it's not important at all. I even skipped the things that I had to do (like homework) just because I wanted to know the answers.

Also I have a lot of other things I feel I need to do. For example:

-Everything has to stay on a certain place. My books on the left, my alarm clock on the right, etc.

-When I touch something when (for example) my hands are still wet after washing them, I need to wash them again

-When I miss just one word of the subtitles, I have to rewind the movie to read it properly

-I have to translate English words to Dutch (my native language) when I don't know the meaning, even when I actually do understand the sentence

-I get crazy when the rest of the family wants to watch movies about aliens.. I really can't stand those movies... They are so weird..

I also get agressive thought multiple times a day about hurting people really bad and then I need to think about something else to calm myself down. When I feel like I did something bad or thought about something bad, I need to pray a short prayer which always consist of the same sentence.

I think there's a lot more that I can't think off right now.

If you reached this sentence: Thanks for reading, I admire you for doing it because this was a reaaal long text XD

I'm also a high sensitive person (HSP), don't know if that has anything to do with it

  • How many watts for bass amp?

My parents don't want the sound to be really loud because it might disturb our neighbors, but I'm also planning on playing in a band.

They're worried that a bass amp will... well, you know.. blow the roof off the house. Will it work to just turn the volume (of any bass amp) down to the lowest setting, or would that still sound very loud?
