  • Would fish centerpieces be okay?

We are having our wedding in August of next year. Flowers are so expensive and we were considering beta fish in bowls as centerpieces. We would have votive candles around it. We are NOT getting married at the beach, actually at a lakeside gazebo with the reception at an old mansion on the same property. What do you think of beta fish as the centerpiece instead of flowers?

  • Which do you like better, Blurb or MyPublisher?

Which program do you think is more user friendly? Fastest turn around time? Produces the best book (clear photos, exactly how you wanted it to be)? I'm going to make some books of our wedding for close family.

  • When should we have an engagement party?

We got engaged on August 5, 2007. The wedding is August 29, 2008. Would it be too late to have an engagement party in the early part of December? We would just like to have a small get together where the families, bridal party and close family friends can all meet. Our parents have already met, but some of the extended family will be here also. Should be go ahead and have on in December or is that too late after our actual engagement to have it?

  • What website can I sell my wedding items on?

I know about E-Bay, but I was wondering if anyone knew of a site specifically for wedding items. I know there is a site for used wedding dresses, what about shoes? Please help, I bought the wrong size and need to sell them to purchase the correct size. I have them on E-Bay right now, but I was looking for some alternatives.

  • What's a good name for a travel business?

I'm starting a travel business with my Mom. She is 50+ and I am 24. It will be a home-based business targeting all travelers and all areas of travel (car rental, cruise, honeymoon, complete packages, airfare, etc.) We don't want anything cheesy. We've thought of a lot but it seems like they are all taken. Help please, thanks!!

  • What do you think about silver jewelry with a light gold dress?

My wedding gown is a very light gold, I think it's more of a dark Ivory since Ivory looks almost white to me! Anyway, it's a Maggie Sottero gown, style Odette. Would it look okay to wear silver jewelry? Thanks!

  • What flowers would be nice for a navy and gold wedding?

My bridesmaids will wear navy with gold sashes and the men will wear black tux's with black shirts and gold tie/vest. My dress is light gold and I need major help with flowers! I would like something very affordable and elegant, hopefully something with a little blue in it and possibly incorporate some ivory roses. I would love all suggestions!!

  • We want to take part in activities on our honeymoon, more than lay on the beach. Location suggestions?

We are looking for a honeymoon destination outside of the US. We live in CA and can sit on the beach all day long for 8 months out of the year so we would like to take advantage of the other activities on our honeymoon. Any suggestions on where to go? Good hotels or packages to check out? Not too interested in Hawaii or Mexico. We've also been to St. Thomas and St. Maarten so any other locations in the Caribbean would be nice.

  • It's been a week since my puppy was neutered, he now has diarrhea, should I worry yet?

Our puppy was neutered a week ago. Just yesterday I started to notice his stools were very runny. Should I be alarmed or watch it for a few more days to see if it's just a tummy bug and goes away? I know I need to call the vet if it gets worse or persists I just don't want to call now (within 24 hours of the first sign) because they'll want to see him "right away" to scam us out of money.

  • How do we keep our dog quiet in his cage? Happens all the time, day or night!?

We just got a puppy from the Humane Society. He is a 10 week old black lab mix. He was quiet as a mouse at the Humane Society but at home anytime we put him in his crate he barks his brains out for the first 20-40 mins. Should we take him out, is that too long for him to bark non-stop? Any tips on how to make his time in the crate a bite easier on him and easier on our ears? Could this just be temporary thing until he gets used to the new situation and people? Should we try a different style of enclosure other than the standard crate?

F.Y.I. He eats, drinks and has plenty of time to go to the bathroom before we put him in. The cage is not too small for him, he can stand up without touching the top, stretch all the way without touching the ends or sides. He has a stuffed animal, squeeky toy, blanket and bed inside and gets a treat on occassion (when he goes in the cage without an attempt at backing out) HELP PLEASE!!!

  • What are some nice year round outdoor plants for CA?

I live in San Diego, CA and am looking for flowering plants that will bloom year round. They will be planted in an area that is mosty sunny, about 70% of the day the area is direct sunlight. I would prefer plants/flowers that do not take much care, just a bit of water and they'll be good! Thanks!!

  • Can we put this on our response card?

So, we're going to have response cards in with the invites...but I don't want to waste postage and have 1/2 the people not even mail back the cards. I was thinking of having our phone number, email address and our website on the card instead of having them fill out a qty. and mail back. That way they will possibly check out the website and see our registry also! Tell me your thoughts! Is it being cheap or can it be done without guests feeling like it's really out of the norm? What did yall do for response cards?
