  • Things left unexplained?

Growing up some things were left unmentioned because they are so ubiquitous that I think some adults forget to mention it to their kids. For me, it was left and right. My parents, from my own memory, forgot to mention the different from left and right hands and it kinda confused me when it came to driving.

For my girlfriend it was learning to wipe front to back rather than from back to front.

Can anyone else think of things like this that parents/teachers just forget to mention because they are so usual that we forget that they need to be taught?

  • Does anyone know a Cracklin' OatBran recipe?

I love eating Cracklin' OatBran, but I would like to make it from home using more organic ingredients and less oils/preservatives that they have store-bought.

Does anyone know any recipes to make it from home? I've found some online utilizing it, but none really one how to make it itself. I have a feeling it may be slightly difficult to make it because it is so compressed, but any recipes would be greatly appreciated.

  • Question about living outdoors?

I've always had this desire to live outdoors for a long period of time. I read books like Hatchet and My Side of the Mountain as a kid, and now that I'm about to graduate from college (a top rank university), I want to find a way to do it; even if only for a short period of time.

    My questions are:

    1. Do you know of any resources (websites, etc.) that would have extensive information on this topic?

    2. Is this legal. Am I allowed to live on certain types of land (I don't own any land)?

    3. Is there sites that have listing for bear or other predators locations? I want to be relatively safe during my journey.

I have searched myself, but as I'm new to the outdoors stuff in general (I live in a major metro city) I just don't know where to start.

  • Southwest's carryon restriction limit?

According to Southwest's website, you are allowed one carryon (for me that will be a standard piece of luggage that fits their 10x16x24 restriction) as well as one "smaller, personal-type item." As I am already going to check 3 pieces of luggage underneath the plane, I want to know if my backpack is going to count as this second carryon.

    Thanks for any help guys.

  • Where to go in Seattle with friends?

Although I go to the UW, I rarely actually get out and go around town. This week I have two friends flying in from out of town and we need some places to go out to. We're all 20, so bars/clubs are not what I'm looking for.

I love places like Remedy Tea, going to Pike Place, etc. Anywhere in the Seattle, Redmond, Auburn area is fine as well as Bellingham. Just need cool places to go, possible drink tea, coffee, hang out, eat, etc.

    Suggestions?

  • Perineum cramping?

Occasionally when I sneeze (and only when I sneeze) it feels as if my perineum is cramping almost like a foot cramp. Is this normal? Has anyone else ever felt this?

  • What should I do?

I am currently a 3 weeks away from being a senior at a top tier university studying philosophy. This summer I plan on taking my exams for grad school... so, what should I do?

LSAT - For law school, most likely U. of Texas at Austin, or U. of Washington (my current university).

GRE - For graduate work in philosophy, education, or political science.

GMAT - Business as well at U.T.A., U. of W., etc. etc.

So, what should I do? (My GPA is 3.9)

Also, if you have any new ideas or college suggestions (especially from personal experience) feel free to suggest.

  • Does anyone remember this movie?

I saw it on late HBO in the mid-90's. It was about a group of school children (I think) who were kidnapped or taken hostage or something in a cave by masked men. I'm pretty sure it took place in Australia, and the kidnappers wore makes of former presidents (but I could be wrong on that).

It was a horror film, that much I'm sure. They escaped the cave or whatever that was only to run to a house where the kidnappers chased them down and murdered the family at the house. The group of kids was lead by their female teacher.

Any help would be awesome. Thanks.
