  • What is your opinion on the "designer dog" breeds?

I am a dog trainer, and I have been very intrigued with the trend in buying designer dogs lately. What is your opinion on them? Do you think they are mutts, or do you think they should be AKC certified? If so, which is your favorite? How much is the most you would pay for one? I was just curious....

  • Hair help....desparately lol?

I have always had the same hairstyle, color, texture, everything. I've never dyed or highlighted my hair, nor permed or straightened it, but I want something new.

My hair is a few inches below my shoulders, somewhat wavy. I have always worn it in a ponytail, but now that I am 19 I want variety. I was an only child growing up with my dad, so I don't know much about how to do any hairstyles, and I would like for the style to be easy to do...any sites or advice on where to go to find other styles I could wear on an everyday basis?

  • Do you think that police officers should be allowed to sit outside of bars to reduce alcohol related crashes?

I know all about entrapment, and constitutional rights, so please don't harp on me about that. I was just curious what the general consensous was.

  • What is the most unique command that you have taught your dog? How did you teach it?

I am a pet trainer, and I am always looking for new ideas to teach the dogs in my classes. I have all the basics, like sit, down, stay, come, walk on a leash without pulling, take it, leave it, drop it, shake, high five, wave, touch, turn on a light, heel, on you bed, open a door or fridge for a cold beverage (hehehehe), dance, push a ball through a goal, and things like that. Any new ideas for fun tricks?

  • Dog training problems....?

I have a 1 year old German Shepard in one of my training classes, but he is afraid to walk in the door. Nothing bad has ever happened to him in the store, or any store in fact. He is fine when he walks onto the carpet, but freezes before he will walk on the regular floor. The only way we can get him into the training ring is to carry or drag him, which we don't want. Once he gets into the ring, he is fine. I am sure it is the floor that bothers him. It is just like any other store floor. We have tried treats, coaxing, commands he already knows, distracting him, getting him all excited on the carpet, tossing balls, everything I could think of. We even tried steak! Any realistic ideas to help him? I have been a dog trainer for 3 years and never seen this problem this bad. Help!
