  • Magnets producing energy?

I understand the laws of thermodynamics but here is the question. If you force a smaller magnet to enter the magnetic field of a fixed, like polar, larger magnet, and then release the force, then the larger magnet will repel the smaller correct? So in an engine, if every piston was topped with a small disc magnet, and the opposing piston and crankshaft forced it into a cylinder where a larger same polarity magnet was fixed at the top of the cylinder. Wouldn't the larger magnet repel the small magnet on the piston thus making a crankshaft rotation. And would't that rotation force the opposing piston to do the same and so on?

  • How can you say that Hillary is ready to be President?

Ok NO RHETORIC! How can you say that Hillary is better prepared to be president when she wasn't prepared to run a campaign. How could the "Clinton Machine" with all the money, name recognition and a former president allow a first term Senator to defeat her using DNC rules that President Clinton mastered in 2 elections? With all this advantage, the race should have not been close. If you can't manage your campaign, with all the advantages in your favor, how can you mangae the country?

  • Why are Hillary supporters so bitter against Obama?

The Clinton campaign was poorly run, her surragates (including her husband) kept bringing in the race card for no reason i.e. Ferraro, this alienated the black vote. Plus she never campaigned for the black vote (odd considering Bill's domination with the black vote when he ran). They basically gave away several primaries after super Tuesday because they were unorganized, granted they figured things out in the end but they were too far behind at that point. Not to mention, she was the favorite going in, with all the money and name recognition. So with all the screw ups, why is this Obama's fault? Was he supposed to NOT run a good campaign in order to help Hilary's flawed campaign. If she wasn't a woman, wouldn't we be laughing at her for such an inebt campaign? Seems to me, that instead of hating Obama, maybe these bitter women should be objective and realize that Hillary was flawed but there are some prominant professional female politicians who can run a competant race in 2012

  • Non-Profit organizations and tax deductions?

Ok, my wife works for a 501-c non-profit organization. What they do is, they run a home improvement business (window replacements, siding etc) and with the profits of their work they feed the homeless, elderly and help the poor pay utility bills.

Their weekly profits are about $6000 a week, so they do good work in the community.

Here is my question, say a customer buys replacement windows for $5000. Since they are buying the windows from a non-profit, can they take a $5000 deduction on their taxes?

  • Debt Solutions?

I have a gredit score of 723-740 depending on the reporting agency. I have never had a late payment but carry 100k+ in Credit Card debt. With the slowing economy and realestate slump, my income level has really dropped. Starting next month I will have a $1700 monthly shortfall for my minimum credit card payments. My payments total $10,000 a month and I can afford $8300. I've read that debt reduction companies will destroy my credit, and with the real estate slump, debt consolidation loans are not possible. Anyone have a solution that can help me maintain my good credit rating?
