In WI. I have wanted to start rabbit hunting for a while, but have no experience whatsoever. I will be taking a hunters safety class this spring so I can get a liscense, but I want to learn as much as possible.
Should I get a beagle? More than one? should it live in the house or outside?
What kind of gun? 22., pellet rifle, shotgun? what brand, model, and ammo do you recommend?
What times of the season are best ( November thru March)
What time of day is best?
Where should I look for rabbits?
Pretty much, any general info you have on hunting rabbits. Thanks!7 AnswersHunting1 decade ago
i make alot of apple dishes in the fall, and there are always lots and lots of apple peelings and cores left. I was wondering if they were ok for rabbits. I am guessing the peelings are ok, but I know seeds are bad for dogs, are they bad for rabbits too? thanks!4 AnswersOther - Pets1 decade ago
I have a german shepherd husky rott mix I got from a shelter when he was younger. he is now getting up there, (10 yrs) and because of his large size, his joints are hurting him. he does not like to eat the glucosamine pills that i have, but he will eat them if you put them in a little hot dog. I (his owner) have always made him home made dog treats, and I was wondering if I could make the treats and grind up the tablets and put them in the treat mix. I would have to be careful and find out how many Milligrams of glucosamine and chondroiten there is in each treat, I have no trouble with that, but I was wondering if cooking the tablets makes the glucosamine and chondroiten useless. anyone know? thanks!5 AnswersDogs1 decade ago
I already have him trained to pull my bike (bikejoring) but he will not pull unless I start the bike moving first. Is this normal? If so, will I be able to get the sled moving first? We have the sled ordered from a person who makes dog sleds, and it is a very light sled, weighing only about 15pounds. I weigh about 110pounds. Also, next spring we will be buying another lab pup to help our current lab,and also because our family really likes labs, but this is the first time I have ever sleded with them. Any advise? Thanks!
one of my guy friends that I have a mad crush on was recently dumped by his girlfriend. I really want to ask him out but how long should i wait to do so? and when the time comes, how do I do it? I really dont want this to ruin our friendship. please help me!1 AnswerSingles & Dating1 decade ago
Any tips? I have a big fenced in yard. They would be working dogs, so they would live outside. I have had huskys before, but that was like 10 years ago, so any tips or suggestions? I am planning on training them to pull a small dogsled for exercise.
Well, I will be adopting two a beagles for hunting sometime in the spring. They may be purebred or mixed, either way i will make sure it will be a good hunter before i adopt him/her. Any training tips? any good websites? and, which gender do you think is better for hunting? don't worry, I WILL be neutering the dogs, because i don't want to add to the backyard breeder problem. so any suggestions? thanks!
Well, I am planning to get chicks at our local 4-H animal auction in the spring. Don't worry, people look at the animals to make sure they are healthy. And, 90 percent of the money goes to 4-H. I am planning on getting laying hens, (about 15). There are no certian breeds usueally, at the auction, they divide chicks into 3 catagories. Layers, meat breeds, and banty hens. I want the layers, and I want to know any chicken tips. I have ALOT of land to fence in for the chickies, and I have a coop and 4 nest boxes. Any tips about chickens would be appreciated.
P.S. I have had chickens that I bought from this auction before, but it was like 4 years ago so i am a little rusty on my chicken facts.2 AnswersBirds1 decade ago
