I'm an attorney nearing retirement. I travel a lot with my job for fairly long periods of time. I'm bound to be anywhere in the US or its Territories at any one time.
It seems that Violation Notices are sent out automatically, and that Yahoo Answers does not screen them for accuracy. Out of the nearly 700 answers I have posted I have received two Violation Notices. In both cases, I did not use profanity or lurid language, but answered in a respectful way. Both answers were on the sarcastic side, but I found no rule against sarcasm.
The first question was from a person who requested that women haters respond. That, in itself was in violation of the Community Guidelines. I answered that I did not hate women, but appreciated the female form. For that I got violated???!!!
The second question asked the answerers to name ONE of Bush's policies that was successful. I sarcastically responded, again without lurid language or profanity. And again I got the Notice. This was purely political retaliation.
We should, as a Community, require Yahoo to evaluate a report before issuing a Notice. If you agree, send them an email.7 AnswersYahoo Answers1 decade ago

Could have sworn Mamas & Papas sang the Declaration of Independence in a song, but can't find it. Where?
