  • How do you deal with "so what are you up to tonight"?

A coworker recently moved here from far away and he is way too clingy. I work too closely with him to want to hang out with him outside of work, and he is very sensitive and gets his feelings hurt, which seriously impacts his job performance. Now I get a text of "so what are you up to tonight?" and I really want to ignore it, but I don't want to cause tension at work. Ideas? Please help!

  • Can you use hophornbeam in beer?

My family brews and were curious if it is possible as we like to experiment, and can't find much online to clarify. Can the "hops" on the hophornbeam actually be used in the brewing process?

Please only answer if you are knowledgeable in the brewing area, not the drinking area.

  • Looking for websites to talk to sci-fi/fantasy fans at the adult level?

I want to find an online community where I can talk to fans of the same science fiction and fantasy topics that I am interested in, and hopefully meet people with similar interests as me. Any ideas? I'm a career-oriented adult female who would to like have a "break" doing this.

  • I gave a guy my number and realized that I never wanted to see him again.?

Would it be too awful to ignore him? I really just want to not deal with it. I know I should have not given him the number, I had a fake one all ready to go and just didn't think straight.

  • Why can't I untag myself on Facebook?

I'm trying to untag myself out of pictures that a facebook friend put on there. I don't care about deleting the photo from the Internet, I just want it off of MY pages. I don't want to HIDE them, I want them off of my facebook.

The problem is when I click on "I want to remove this tag", nothing happens. I click "continue" and it just clicks back to the "I want to remove this tag" screen. What is going on? It was working fine earlier.

  • Password Problem on laptop!?

The "tech director" at my old school offered to connect my personal laptop to the school server. Now it won't work unless connected to the server. Any ideas how to override this? If not, take note never to let anyone connect your personal laptop to anything.

  • How to stop my one chin hair from growing back?

I have two chin hairs in different spots. They keep growing back in the same spots. I pluck them, and even have seen the root on them before, but I would like a remedy that would stop them permanently coming back. Please do not suggest shaving or Nair.

  • Parents: Can you answer a teacher's question?

I would like to know why a parent will rather put their child through a lot of testing to find out why her second daughter is not getting as good of grades as her first daughter than accept that not everyone is going to get all A's in school.

She also tells me often how she would run my classroom and undermines me in front of my students, especially her daughter, whom she tells that she doesn't have to do the work anyway, since it's stupid and I don't know what I'm doing anyway.

Very frustrated here! I love an involved parent, but a blind and rude one just is too much. Any insight that could clue me in to why a parent would act like this?

  • I made fruit liqueurs and left the fruit in?

We made them in August, and now (April) we got around the straining out the fruit. Should we drink it?

  • Healthy on-the-go breakfast foods?

I leave early for a long commute, and want a healthy option to eat breakfast on the road. I don't want gas station doughnuts or breakfast sandwiches, and I want something more filling and lasts longer to eat than a power bar or something like that. Any ideas? Subway isn't open until 7 and I leave at 6.

  • I need to break up with my boyfriend of 5 years?

It's becoming obvious that we are not meant to be. He is leaving on internship soon, and seems to be planning ahead for us, hoping I'll come with. I told him many times that I will not be going with him, but he seems not to hear it.

It's hard because everything awesome about the last 5 years (we've been adults the whole time, this isn't a high school kid thing) involved him. I love him, but this isn't working anymore. Any ideas what to do? Internship isn't for another 6 months and we live together.

  • My garage door won't shut?

I opened it this morning and turned on my car to warm it up (I live in a cold region). When I came out 20 minutes later, I drove out of the garage and tried to shut the garage, but it came down a tiny bit and went back up. There was nothing in the way of the sensors, and obviously the rails were not warped. I had to leave it open to go to work. Any suggestions?

Oh, and there is no red cord (or any cord) hanging down, and no handles on the door to pull it shut.

  • My boyfriend in grad school is paranoid all the time.?

He constantly thinks people (including me) are attacking him verbally. All comments must have a hidden meaning. He tells me that he is better than me and other people and that I should feel fortunate to have someone who will put up with me, since I'm unsupportive and mean to him. I have been at his side throughout this grad school experience (I have a teaching job and 2 four-year degrees) and have put up with his rude comments and childish storm-offs. I'm not supporting him financially. How can I not put up with this without leaving him? Is that even possible?
