I woke up the other morning to see a really small (maybe 2-3 millimeters long) round, black, shiny beetle treading across my pillow.
Needless to say, that gave me the heebie jeebies and I killed it (sorry bug :[), tore apart my bed hoping that was the only one, and I didn't - and haven't - seen any more.
I washed my bedding and pillows, but I can't help but worry that there might be more someplace and I haven't been sleeping well.
My window was open that night and it's possible the bug got in through the window or something, but I am wondering if anyone is familiar with bug infestations and if I should be concerned about sleeping on my bed if I only saw one little beetle the day before yesterday.
It was definitely not a bedbug and it didn't look like the pictures that have come up when I looked up carpet beetles, and I definitely haven't seen any carpet beetle larvae, so hopefully someone who knows a thing or two about beetles can either ease my mind, or if you can't honestly ease my mind, tell me how to prevent an infestation.
