  • Atheist, what would you prefer?

Let us try this again. I just got reported as violating guidelines for asking this. Not sure why....

First off, I respect your belief as an individual and will defend it should it ever be threatened. That aside I am curious what your thoughts are specific to this question not anyone religion or dogma.

While an atheist will never prove with certainty a creator does not exists and a theist will never prove with certainty a creator does exist. Would you prefer that a creator does not to exist? Or, hypothetically, given a choice in the grand scheme of things, would you actually prefer a creator to exist if this creator could be proved to exist?

Thanks and have a happy new year with peace and prosperity!

  • Why when Liberals like something?

.... they want me to pay for it, but when they don't like something they want to make it against the law or if this can't be done, silence what they don't like.

  • I had a dream I was an animal.?

I had a dream I was an animal in the wild. I think I was a deer because other deer were around me, I think in heard and we were all running faster than humans can run. I am not sure I was a deer but my vision was different as if I had opposing eyes and my vision was very acute. I also was very nimble and easily jumped a fence. At one point I jumped a river about 12 feet across and the water was running fast. As I approached the rivers sandy banks, I saw two juvenile foxes and I knew they were trying to figure out a way to cross. I remember being very concerned for there safety but knew I could not help. In a single effortless leap, I crossed the river and continued. That is all I remember. In my dream I did not feel in any danger, I was just a free spirit. It was incredible to say the least.

I have never had such a dream and I have no idea what it means. Any thoughts? I have never heard of someone dreaming they were the animal. Thanks.

  • If Obama Can Ignore Parts Of ObamaCare, Could He Ignore Election Laws Too?

How far can Obama go? Now that he’s claimed the royal prerogative to not enforce immigration law against young illegals, not enforce O-Care’s employer mandate against businesses, and not enforce the new rules about “essential benefits” against insurers who un-cancel old plans, what else can he choose not to enforce? Presumably he could also refuse to enforce election laws. Why not? What’s the limiting principle?

  • Atheist, is your proselytizing on R&S effective?

Ultimately, what is your end goal on R&S. Do you simply want to drive what few theists are left from answers altogether. Surly your questions and comments are not based on simple ridicule alone. What will you do when the only ones here are other atheists. I am beginning to wonder if your bashing on yahoo a form of weird worship in believing in nothing. • Is New Atheist Evangelicalism hypocritical?

The new atheists have their own special interest groups and ad campaigns. They even have their own holiday (International Blasphemy Day). It is no exaggeration to describe the movement popularized by the likes of Richard Dawkins and company, as a new and particularly zealous form of fundamentalism--an atheist fundamentalism. The parallels with religious fundamentalism are obvious and startling: the conviction that they are in sole possession of truth (scientific or otherwise), the troubling lack of tolerance for the views of their critics (Dawkins has compared creationists to Holocaust deniers), the insistence on a literalist reading of scripture (more literalist, in fact, than one finds among most religious fundamentalists), the simplistic reductionism of the religious phenomenon, and, perhaps most bizarrely, their overwhelming sense of siege: the belief that they have been oppressed and marginalized by Western societies and are just not going to take it anymore.

  • Can I offer you food for thought?

Occasionally, I find a snippet of information I find interesting and like to share it with others.

    Did you know this?

Regarding text, read from right to left... Most ancient writing was done with a hammer and chisel in stone. The chisel was held in the left hand and the hammer in the right. From this position it is natural to write from right to left. When ink came into use, it was usually written from left to right to prevent the hand from smearing the ink. It was actually common to write Hebrew, as well as other languages, in either direction. The direction the letter faced informed the reader which direction to read it. At some unknown point in time, the actual direction became standardized. The Hebrews and other Semites continued with the original right to left, while the Greeks and other Europeans adopted the new left to right method.

  • R&S Question on Human Services?

For the purpose of this question, please entertain this as hypothetical in nature, not an assertion for a divine presence.

If, for some unexplained reason, you had the ability to permanently cure any physical ailment in humans without any cost to you, and you alone could do this. Would you charge a fee for you're services rendered?

  • Have you ever considered this possibility?

If our soul is eternal, who is to say our birth was the beginning. If our soul, or spirit is of, or belongs in another realm. Have you ever wondered if it was our own choice to be here, in this realm with the understanding we would not be fully aware of the purpose of our own existence as perhaps some sort of exercise. I am not asking if you believe this. I am merely asking if you have ever considered this concept.
