  • Turkish Airlines 'considering A380 or 747-8'. Which one do you think they'll go for?

http://www.reuters.com/article/2014/02/27/turkishairlines-turkey-idUSL6N0LW1OX20140227 I noticed on Wikipedia that Turkish are increasing cargo carried significantly, which puts the 747-8 at an advantage, as it has 30% more room for cargo. However, I noted their 777-300ERs carry about 337 passengers 3 class. The 747-8 carries between 467 and 560... show more

The 380 is excellent, but only when you can fill all the seats, otherwise the 747-8 is much more efficient. Will Turkish need a really large airliner like the 380 or will they get the 747-8? Thanks, Sam.

  • Why are new 747-8s going into storage?

Before people start saying 'they don't have enough demand' and 'nobody wants them', Boeing have delivered 57 747-8s to airlines already. With 112 orders so far, why are some going into storage when they could just deliver them to airlines and operators?

I have completed 4/6 of these equations but I can't seem to find where to start on the last two - 1) 7 - 4p = 2p - 3 2) 3x - 2 - 5x = 2x - 4 Thanks for all your help in advance, once I've seen one example I'll be able to do them in future but I can't seem to fathom where to start with these last 2.

  • Is pornography really all that bad?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5YwhROj5uZs I mean, I'm pretty neutral over it. Would parents really rather their kids watch a horrible Saw movie of people being tortured by a serial killer than a harmless 2 minute clip of how they were created? I'm not talking like kids as in little ones, I'm talking like 15 / 16 maybe. (and older) Also, I hear people talking about how it's 'degrading' to women, but why does nobody ever mention men? what about gay porn, there's no women in that. I just was wondering why some people think it's degrading - we're naturally built to want to desire sex and we're attracted to people with good physical features, it's 'survival of the fittest'. One last thing to consider, how is masturbating to porn any worse than masturbating without? Either way, we still think of people sexually when we do it right? Whether we watch it or not. The only problem I can see is that if people think it's realistic interpretation of sex, because most of us can recognise it's just fantasy. Although, most pornography is just couples submitting their real sex online. I just became curious, because society somehow has this weird thing with sex and how it should be 'prohibited'.

  • Did the Airbus A340 ever reach its break even point? If so, by how much did it exceed this break even point?

Just wondering if the Airbus A340 ever made a profit for Airbus? Was the mere 377 sales enough to counteract development costs and other costs? It is considered a failure by many, because it lost out to the more powerful, larger and more economical 777, which has sold over 1000 examples. • What is the piano music in the film Corrina Corrina?

It's the one where the young child Molly is learning to play the repetitive piece, then there is a scene where Corrina sits down and plays with her (when the dad leaves for work). It sounded beautiful and was wondering what it was called. For those that are unsure, here's what i'm talking about: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XzTMeNFX8xM... show more

Does anyone think it's socially acceptable, because he's 21. Thanks :)

  • Can a 16 year old, with consent, legally have sex with anyone over 18? Or can they only have sex with 16-17s?

Just wondering, not that I'm planning on having sex, I just wondered what the law was. I realise if the person in question is in a position of trust, then it is a big no-no, like a teacher for example, but what about just a person that is close to you? As I said, just wondering what the law was, because they are never fully taught to teenagers in detail.

  • Why does everyone hate the 747 now?

Okay, since the A380 has come along, everyone has tossed away the 747. I'm not talking about just airlines ignoring the new, more efficient -8, but mainly about the general public. People I know understand that I have an interest in aviation, and they keep asking things like 'wow, have you seen the new A380? It's great' - even when the 747-8 is newer and more modern than the A380, and even though the A380 is 6 years old and isn't new anymore. The 747 is more of a plane to be astonished by. They seem to hold the belief that the 747 is now inferior just because the 380 is capable of carrying maybe 50-100 more passengers than the 747-8. And also that the A380 is a more desirable plane to fly on, when both have modern, up scale posh cabins (when comparing the -8). Why is this? Because it's not as if the 747 didn't change the world. Also, without the 747, or even the MD-12 (yes, search it and you will see the A380 is just a copy) there'd be no A380. Where has everyone's praise gone for the 747? Why is it no longer iconic?
