  • Where can I find data on the country of origin for those trying to enter the US illegally from Mexico?

I've heard that the Border Patrol has arrested citizens of Iran, Afghanistan, Somalia, and other Asian countries trying to sneak in from Mexico, but I've been unable to find the data for a school report. Does anyone know where the DATA can be found? (Note: please do not turn this into a political debate, I am making no judgement, I'm only looking for FACTS). Thank You!

  • Can I use an existing iTunes account for a SanDisk Sansa?

I've had a couple iPods & liked them, but they are so much more expensive than other music players. Any Sansa users had success importing music from iTunes???

  • Can the HIV cocktail lower a patient's viral load to the point where it is undetectable even by NAT?

I know that a patient keeping to the regimen will test negative using the HIV 1&2 antibody test, but could NAT or PCR still detect it?

  • What obligations does an NFL team have to provide clear sidelines to the visiting team?

I'm watching my Eagles play the Giants. The sidelines on the Eagles' side of the field haven't been well cleared from the snow & ice from the last few days, but the Giants had the sun to melt everything on their side. The announcers have commented on the issue a couple times. The sidelines are slippery, presenting a potential danger to players, and David Akers, the Eagles kicker has complained he doesn't have the usual 5 yards to practice kicks. To say the least, it doesn't sound very sporting.

  • Can anyone suggest a topic for an MBA master's thesis in Marketing?

I have a couple ideas in mind, but perhaps the Y!A community may have a better idea...

I would like it to focus on healthcare and/or non-profit organizations since that's where I've worked for most of my adult life. While it should focus on marketing, I believe that any business related topic would be acceptable.

    Thanks in advance!

  • Is this really the message Democrats want to send?

All schools in the Chester-Upland School District, near Philadelphia, are being closed Tuesday because of a Barrack Obama rally at nearby Widener University. For those not from the area, Chester, Pa. is one of the most economically depressed areas in the United States. A few years ago, when I was on a nearby school board, I saw reports that Chester was one of the 5 worst school districts out of the 500 in Pennsylvania. Why are all students being given the day off because Barrack Obama will be in town? If anyone needs a good education, it's kids from this city.

I would understand if they gave a pass to any students who asked off to attend the rally, but why should they give every student off, K through 12?

  • What happens if World Series Game 3 is called for rain?

The forecast is for rain, heavy at times, pretty much all day Saturday until midnight. Will they still play games 3 & 4 here in Philadelphia before going back to Tampa?

  • Why wouldn't you want to be an organ donor?

I have been working with transplants for over 10 years and believe it to be truly a miracle of modern medicine. But it only works when families agree to donate these precious gifts from their loved ones.

For those of you who are hesitant to donate, please tell me why. To be prepared for conversations with families, I'm looking for reasons beyond the classic ones why families say "no."

For those of you who support donation, first of all thank you, but PLEASE do not flame those who don't want to donate. I am looking for honest answers and will give a thumbs down to anyone who attacks another post.

  • Is it possible that the internet has actually dumbed us down?

20 years ago, nearly everyone watched the news, if only to get the weather & sports. Today, that info is nicely summarized on their site, or something similar. Many otherwise educated friends of mine don't even watch the news anymore, and get their current events from entertainment programs like David Letterman and SNL.

Are we using the internet to seek out a great deal of information about just a few topics at the expense of wide ranging knowledge? I believe that a true renaissance person has at least a basic knowledge of a wide range of subjects.

  • So what happens to Washington Mutual (WM) common stockholders?

If a company goes bankrupt, common stockholders are last in line for repayment, but that isn't what happened here. WaMu was taken over by FDIC and sold to another bank. Will we be offered shares of JP Morgan Chase, or will we experience a 100% loss?

  • What instrumental songs has Jimmy Buffett recorded?

The only one I can think of is "Banana Wind." I'm looking for dinner music to play during my wedding (which has a nautical theme & a lot of Parrotheads attending).

  • So who else has fallen for this ProActiv scam?

My fiance signed up for a trial of Proactiv to help clear her skin before our wedding. When she did that, she was automatically signed up for "Vita Power," a box of vitamin packs. She canceled the Proactiv, but they keep sending her vitamins & billing her for them. In spite of her insistence that she never ordered their product and has tried to cancel it, they are now threatening to send her to collections.

If you've been through this, let me know what you did. If you haven't, think about it before you order Proactiv (I wondered how they could afford to have Jessica Simpson in their ads when only charging $19.99).

  • Are there clothing-optional beaches in Huatulco, Oaxaca Mexico?

I've sunbathed nude before, but my fiance would like to try it for the first time. We're going to Huatulco in October for our honeymoon, does anyone know if they allow nude sunbathing?
