  • Kitten crunching noises, teething? ?

My kitten is about 7-8 months old now and I know that cats start to lose thier baby teeth around this time. My kitten is making crunching noises with his mouth and making wierd mouth movements. I noticed that he lost one of his baby canines and a new one is sprouting. What can I do to make his teething process a little bit easier?

He's been mewing to go outside and it makes me sad, so my question is, how are your indoor cats? How are they dealing with it? I'm hoping getting him neutered would help since he no longer would have a sexual urge. I'm currently staying with my boyfriend at his house and his father keeps insisting that my kitten goes outside and I keep telling him no (and it's not even his f***ing cat nor does he lift a finger for him). It's getting really irritating cuz I constantly keep hearing that the cat should go outside and the cat is mewing that he wants to go outside... but the kitten is not going outside. Would my kitten get used to it?

  • Getting kitten neutered tomorrow. Need advice!?

Ok. I have several questions. The first is that the vet said he can't have any food since 8pm today. My kitten usually eats at this time and then again in the morning at 6am (his appt is at 8am). He keeps meowing for dinner and looking at where his food bowl was. I feel horrible to starve him. Can I give him something? Just a little? I have a... show more

I'm anxious as to how he will behave tomorrow post-op. I'm going to pick him up from the vet at 1pm. Do they recover fast? What should I expect from my kitten tomorrow? How long does it take for the suturing to heal completely? Am I suppose to let him play afterwards?

  • What is my 5 month old male kitten doing?

The doctor there said that the hernia needs to be repaired. She referred me to a surgeon that the university contracts with. I went to the surgeons office today for the initial consultation. She did the same physical examination as my university doctor and said I didn't have a hernia and sent me home. I have pain on my lower right abdominal area and if I apply force, it hurts even more. The stupid surgeon said it might be a muscle pull and told me to go exercise. She didn't bother to do a ultrasound or mri to make sure. WTF?! If indeed it is a hernia, exercise may rupture it completely. What do I do now?

I rescued this kitten from in middle of the freeway. I always had cats and pets of every kind, but right now isn't the best time. I had him since he was four weeks old, so I'm not going to give him away. I just had a few questions. He likes to attack - biting and scratching my arms. Is this due to teething? Is there such thing as teething (some people say that we can't apply human developmental stages to animals. I disagree...)? How do I make him stop attacking my arms? He has A LOT of toys. I currently use the spray bottle method and saying NO. Does it work as a conditioning method? Will he calm down as he gets older? And, what about clipping their nails? Do you use human nail clippers or pet nail clippers and why? He is extremely hyper and only affectionate when he wants to be, is this normal? Thanks.

  • When can I neuter my kitten?

He's two months old right now and went to the vet two days ago to get his second vaccination. He's going to get his third vaccination in 3 weeks. Is it true that pets need thier rabie shot first before they can neuter? If that's the case, I have to wait another 2 months?

  • Normal kitten growing up behavior?

I fostered my kitten when he was 4 weeks old. He used to eat a lot and he used to scarf it down until now. He's now 2 months old and he doesn't seem to like to eat as much as he did when he was younger. My guess is that he's teething and it's bugging him.
