  • TV Commercial Daenerys Asks "Where's My Dragon?

    A few years back I remember a Game of Thrones themed TV commercial where Daenerys is sitting at a table in a modern setting calling "Where's My Dragon?" I remember the dragon is rather small and looked lost, but by the end of the commercial finds her. I've always thought it was sweet. I having a hard time pinning down the product so I can go look for the commercial.

    Advanced Query Syntax missing in Windows File Explorer and Word 2013 File Search?

    I recently installed some Windows updates and now Advance Query Syntax seems missing from the Search boxes in Windows File Explorer and the Word 2013 legacy Open dialog boxes, and I can no longer limit searches by date (create:, modified:, ect) or click and produce that little drop down calendar to use anymore. All the AQS search parameters that have colons at the end or their names don't work. Does anyone have any idea what those little clock icons mean and where they're from?

  • A good low calorie alternative to pie crust?

    I once calculated the calories in just the pie crust were about 1000 per crust, as much or more than the pumpkin filling I was using. I can make pumpkin pie filling with Splenda and justify the filling as almost a vegetable, but the number of calories the pie crust adds was a bit of a shock. I know I could bake the filling without a crust, but I would like something that takes the place of the crust for lifting it out of the pie pan and add a little crunchy contrast.

  • Are the weeds growing in the wood chips helping to mulch them?

    Two years ago we had two large maple trees cut down and they left two round piles of wood chips.This year the piles have become overgrown with thick weeds, some I actually find attractive. Are the weeds actually helping to break down the wood chips or are they growing on the soil underneath?

  • Create Yahoo Calendar Event With Multi-day Bar?

    Is there a way to create a multi day Event that creates a single Bar across consecutive days on the calendar with one bar and title? It will do it if I I select a start time, which I consider clutter, but won't let me if I choose "All-Day" events. I see Calendars that I've subscribed to doing it, and I swear years ago Yahoo Calendar was able to do it.

  • Should I use a French Press to make my coffee?

    I have been making single cups of coffee on top of the stove using only a saucepan and a fine strainer. I let the coffee sit in water a few minutes below a low simmer then strain. Would using a french press be comparable?

  • Discourage young cat from playing with older cat?

    We recently adopted a stray female calico kitten who is obsessed with playing with our older 10 year old male cat. The younger cat constantly jumps on him and lays in ambush for him. Some days his yowling in protest seems to go on all morning and throughout the day. He wants nothing to do with it. I don’t think she is trying to establish dominance, like if they were two males, I just think she has too much energy and is playful.

    If we don’t find a way to slow the calico down, she is at risk of being given to someone else. I don’t know if the two of them can stay together cooped up in the house till spring. At least can we expect her to someday slow down as she gets older?

  • Did Yahoo recently change My Inbox widget on the My Yahoo frontpage?

    It has this box at the the top which would allow me to switch to Google Mail but I intend to never use and is just wasting precious space at the top of the mail list. Also, all my messages are grayed out, hard to read, and look like they aren't available but I can still click on them. When it first appeared I wondered if someone had hacked my frontpage. I can not find an announcement for it.

  • Microsoft Word 2013 uninstall itself and the program gone?

    Today Office Home & Student 2013 suddenly disappeared and I never uninstalled it. Is this even possible? I looked in Windows 8 Programs and Features and it is still listed there, but the Size column is empty. I tried Repair and it does nothing. I just bought it in June and I wonder if it thought some trial was over even thought I activated it.

  • Yahoo Mail is it safe to read email in Spam folder?

    In Yahoo Mail I usually just look at the Subject and Sender of emails in my spam folder, then empty the folder. Is it safe to click and read any of the messages? I am sometimes curious about what's in some of these emails and would like to read them. I don't have to read them, but would sometimes like to look at some of the more ridiculous ones that I keep getting.

  • Can't pin a shortcut to the Taskbar in Windows 8?

    I am trying to create a Show Desktop button for the left side of the Taskbar in Windows 8 on my new computer. I have found a solution where you create a SCF file then create a shortcut to it which you pin it to the Taskbar. Unfortunately I can’t seem to pin the shortcut to the Taskbar, it will only allow me to “pin to Explorer.” The SCF file works if I click on it anyplace else but the Desktop.

    [Shell]

    Command=2

    IconFile=%SystemRoot%\System32\imageres.dll,105

    [Taskbar]

    Command=ToggleDesktop

    How to I get it to pin to the Taskbar?

    I know about clicking the far right side of the Task Bar and all the keyboard commands such as Windows - D. I want a ONE click solution I can put on the left side of the Taskbar so I am not fighting fifteen years of muscle memory every time I want to use the mouse and go to the Desktop. I don’t want to bring the Start Menu back either.

  • Name for the sidewalk leading to the front door of a house?

    There much be a special name for the sidewalk that that connects the front door/porch of a house to the main sidewalk running parallel to the street, but I haven't been able to pin it down. What would a landscape architect call it? The best candidate I have found is front entry sidewalk, but that is a little wordy.
