  • Why does the echo function in PHP have no parameters, when other functions do?

I've recently been learning PHP and I'm confused as to why the echo function has no parameters. I guess it might because I'm coming off of languages like Java and Javascript.

There are other functions out there with parameters, such as phpinfo(); and a lot of other things. But with the echo function, is it just a different type or something? It doesn't use any parameters. It's format is just echo "hello world"; Why is it not echo("hello world"); ??

I hope this makes sense. Thanks

  • Should I skip C and go straight to learning C++?

People usually say to start out with C, but that's primarily because it's good for beginners.... So my question is, is there any benefit to learning C? Or should I just skip C and go to C++?

By the way, I have experience with other (web) programming languages such as JavaScript and PHP, so learning an object oriented programming language will be pretty easy for me.

  • Music Theory Questions?

So let's say that i'm writing a song for the piano (i'm not, i'm just wondering); What would I use show that one hand should be one dynamic, and the other hand a different dynamic? For example; how would I show that the right hand should be piano and the left hand be forte?

Also another question: What would I use to show that a singular note in a chord should be louder than the other notes in the chord? For example; in a C major chord (notes C, E, and G), how would I show that the G should be louder/accentuated than the other notes in the chord?
