  • Why does my dog eat weird stuff?

My 12-year-old female Dachshund, who's in excellent health and at a good weight, has not been eating her food with her normal enthusiasm. Most times, I have to hand feed her to get her to eat, and she rarely finishes it. Lately, she's taken to eating anything she finds on the ground or on the floor. I once found her chewing on a wooden birdhouse I'd left on the floor. In addition to feeding her once a day, she also gets raw baby carrots as snacks, along with one Milk Bone and a Mintie (breath-freshening dog chew), and I occasionally give her some of whatever I'm eating. Should I change her food? Money is very tight right now or I'd bring her to the vet. Otherwise, she's behaving normally and having normal eliminations.

  • I am a 44 year old female who isn't sexually active. Why are my breasts leaking a white fluid?

This has been going on for the last few weeks. I know I'm not pregnant, so what could be the reason?

  • What would be a good career for someone who likes to do research?

Not scientific research, but things like finding out what a city is like to live in, and verifying dates.

  • What can I give my dog while she is having diarrhea?

She's an 8-year old Dachsund who loves to eat, but I've stopped feeding her to give her stomach a rest. She's hungry and barking constantly for food.

  • Is it too far to walk from Union Station in Washington DC to the Vietnam Wall?

I'm taking my mom next week. Neither of us is afraid of walking a couple of miles or so, but it would be nice to know another way to get there if the weather is bad.

  • Should I install new flooring first or drywall?

My sewage pipe broke and flooded my basement. The cleanup crew took out the carpet and removed all of the paneling to prevent mold from growing. I want to install rubber flooring and eventually put up drywall. Does it matter which one I do first?

  • Can someone help me remember the name of this movie?

It's one of those "aftermath of nuclear war" movies, like "Testament" and "The Day After," but it's set in England. It was really graphic, actually showing how people got nuked. A teenage girl is pregnant before the bomb drops on London. Her family initially survives the attack, and the story follows the girl and her baby living in the aftermath for at least 15 years.

I saw this movie in an environmental chemistry class and for the life of me, I can't remember its title. Any and all help appreciated.

  • How long can you freeze uncooked ground turkey?

I'm not going to say how long it's been in my freezer. I bought it to use in a recipe but still have not made the dish since the urge to cook hasn't come over me lately :)

  • Am I damaging my car?

I have been unable to get the oil changed in my car because of time and money problems. I have a 2000 Focus that is running perfectly fine even though it's been nearly 10,000 miles and 8 months since I last changed the oil. What are the odds of something majorly bad happening to my car? I'll be able to change the oil soon. I just worry about the engine seizing and being unable to use the car at all.

  • Sandpaper heels!?

My feet have become so dry and callused; my heels literally feel like sandpaper. I've been applying lotion, especially at night, but I put socks on over the lotion so it doesn't get everywhere. Can someone tell me how to get decent-looking and feeling feet without spending tons of money?

  • Collapsing trachea - how is it treated?

My 14-year-old Chihuahua mix has been suffering from tracheal collapse for the last 5 years. Until about 6 months ago, she would go through a coughing spell which would last a couple of weeks and then go away. Now it seems that she coughs all the time. Her vet gave me pills for her once, but they made her sluggish and didn't help much. What else can I do to alleviate the cough? At times, it sounds like she's hocking up a piece of lung. Otherwise, she's still pretty perky, eats well most of the time, and walks with me at least once a day.

  • Can your hair change its texture?

I was born with very fine, thin, straight hair. About 10 years ago, (I'm 40 now) I started to get gray hair. The gray hairs are thicker and coarser than my normal hair, which is probably normal. Lately, I've been finding hair on my head that is darker and coarser, mostly in the crown area. I've known two friends who had their hair change texture. One had straight hair until her mother cut it short and it grew in curly. My other friend had wavy hair until she got a perm and it stayed curly. Could my hair be changing its texture?

  • I have been experiencing leg pain that becomes worse when I sit down. It feels like a charley horse. ??

I have also been experiencing this pain in my arms. Over the last few months, I often wake up with numbness in at least one limb. Are these symptoms related, and what could it be?
