• Music to play in my cafe?

Any suggestions for background music for our cafe? We serve all types of food from sandwiches and foccacias to pastas, curries and beef hot pot, and we want something that will not jar the customers while they sit and read their paper while having a coffee, talk with their friends or eat their meal. We serve all types of food from sandwiches and foccacias to pastas, curries and beef hot pot, and we want something that will not jar the customers while they sit and read their paper while having a coffee, talk with their friends or eat their meal. I have been playing a variety of styles recently but a lot of them are oldies and the staff are starting to complain that I've got to come into the the 21st century. lol. I often put the radio on, but sometimes the announcers talk too much or the music has been played so often its driving us crazy, or its just plain crap. I have the Open Space CD, and a couple of Chillout cds and 2 Ministry of Sounds cds which are nice, but too ..... relaxing....I keep getting told to put something more lively!! No rap please - I don't like it. Oh, and no rude words - my customers range the whole gamut of ages, and I don't want to offend anyone. Any suggestions?

I was secretary of a club for several years which I have quit in the middle of last year after I (and the rest of the club) received an email which was obviously meant for only one other member. Nobody tried to fix this situation. My departure was very badly received by the rest of the committee (particularly the Chairman and Leader). It became obvious that they started maligning me soon after that. Yes this hurt me then and continues to do so. What makes things worse is that in March this year, they went to my brother (married) and a very good friend of mine (divorced) and told each of them that I had spread a rumour that they were having an affair. My brother rang me and we discussed the whole situation, and he understood that I did not say these things, and then he asked that I NOT contact my friend about this issue. My friend in the mean time has not called me - and has been unavailable when I do call. I feel I should turn up on her doorstep to explain. What should I do?
