  • Good afternoon, i have a quick question about installing new aluminium windows in my house.?

As shown in the attached photo there are 2 windows that are going to be sliding with thick aluminium profile and double glazed. now since all the measurements are already taken from the supplier, is it bad to have the windows installed without a soffit/marble tile under them? for the few rainy days that we have where i live. It is already plastered and painted.

    Thanks for your feedback.

  • Gas Chainsaw?

So i have this gas chainsaw that im trying to start up, it has been used before cause ive borrowed it from someone.

I has fuel in it from previous cuts, im turning the ign on and pulling the choke out and when i pull the the string id does not start, even when i put the choke back in.

this is the first time doing this and all safety wear is on.

Should it have valve that prime the engine with the fuel? as this one does not seem to have any... sorry no photos as i did not have the cell with me at the garage!

    Thanks for the info.

    Kia Ceed SW?

I am planning in getting a euro 5 2011 KIA CEED Estate with mileage between 80k-90k

I maximum make 8k miles a year. what should I consider replacing when I hit 100k miles? or these modern diesel engines will take a lot of miles if you make the normal servicing.

    Thanks in advance

  • 2010 Golf Estate?

So we have owned a 2009 golf hatchback diesel and it is super comfortable to drive in roads that are a little roughed up and it gets good mpg for the 1.6 diesel. We have owned it for 2 years now and we have only done the usual annual service.

Now i m am interested in buying the same model but a 2010 estate to have bigger boot for kids stuff ect. The question is, although it is an estate, does it drive good as the hatchback?

    Thanks in advance.

    2015 Dacia Duster?

So yesterday i went to see the new Dacia Duster prestige model, the diesel model. looks nice and a good spacey van to use everyday for work and go trips/ camping with the wife, kids and the dog.

Any thoughts on the budget 4x2 van ? i merely do 8,000miles each year and rarely go over 90km/hr where i live.

Yes, interior is made of cheap stuff but if you take care of an object it will last you forever in my opinion

    Thanks for your opinions.

  • Servicing after hitting 100k miles?

I have an 09 honda accord diesel 2.2l with 101k at the moment. About 14 months ago (6k miles) i changed the engine oil castrol edge along with oil, air and fuel filter. I also replaced the disc brakes along with the pads about 2000 miles ago and replaced the gearbox oil at 100k miles. I only do about 8000miles each year with and i use it as a daily.

What should i look to service now that it reached 100k ? Or should i take it to a mech to do a check on it?

The only issue that i have is a humming noise coming from underneath me when i go over 40km/h and when the windows are up and the radio is off you could really hear it.

    Thanks for your time.

  • Humming noise on Honda Accord?

Got an 09 Honda Accord Diesel 100k miles. I started to hear a humming sound when i go over 40km coming from the tires about a year ago and this year i decided to put the front ones on the back since they are a little worn and the sound got worse as when i go over 40km and and higher speeds you can really hear the humming sound.

My mechanic told be it could be worn tires or maybe a bad bearing.

Any of you had this issue?

    Thanks and good day

  • Car maintenance on diesel accord?

I changed my 09 diesel accord oil about a year ago with Castrol edge and fuel / air filters replaced too.

I only have done almost 5k miles and the service icon just came up.

Where I bought the oil from told me that I can change it after 10k miles.

What your opinion? car got 100.000 miles now.

    Thank you

    Soft and comfortable tyres?

I am searching for a set of soft and comfortable tyres that are 225/50/17. driving around town and a little rough roads here. what do recommend ? I was looking at the Nexen N6000 XL (photo)

    What do you suggest?

  • Does tire size matter that much?

I own a 2009 Honda accord diesel with 225/50/17 and its is fun and comfortable to drive but when it comes to rough roads, it is not comfy at all as i feel every pot hole! I have a 2009 golf 1.6 diesel too with 205/55/16 and it is absolutely astonishing when it comes to driving in rough roads, you feel nothing and its like driving in the highway...

I am looking for an suv that have the the comfort of the golf and i can drive anywhere with it. i was looking at 09-10 tiguan / tougreg / jeep compass.

    What do you think guys?

If i put 225/55/17 on the accord, will they fit properly ? it have wide arches and can hold bigger wheels fore sure. will it be less fuel efficient?

    Thank you

  • Wheel aligment?

I have 2009 Honda Accord diesel with 100k on the clock. Tyre dimensions are 225/50/17. A week ago i noticed that the car started to lean on the right and i went to a garage and made a wheel alignment. The mech replaced the rear tires with the front ones as the front were a little worn. after 2 days the car started doing the same thing, leaning to the right and i am hearing a noise coming from the wheels its like a trembling noise when going more than 40km. What could the problem be?
